About this listen
Gordon's name was a joke.
It was given to him by Anthony Zola, a controlling, and abusive father, to taunt his wife over her love of cheese, and the fact that she had been steadily gaining weight since their marriage.
Andrea was a doting mother, and maybe a little overprotective of her boy, but she didn't see that as a bad thing.
On discovering a secret, one the child had been told to keep to himself, everything changes. Now she must do whatever she needs to keep her, and her boy, alive.
Needs must.
Gordon is going to find that his love of cheese, handed down to him by his mother, and his love for the only woman in his life, is about to be taken to a whole new level.
From the dark mind of D E McCluskey, author of The Twelve, CRACK, and Cravings, Comes another addition to his 'Extreme Horror Series'.

Part of the extreme horror gauntlet
My second visit with the first book. The first time I read it. After seeing that Lila Kerry was narrating the audiobook, I decided I must listen to it. The first time I read it, the book was shocking and incredibly gross. I often said to myself, “There are things mentioned that no human should say aloud.” Now you can hear the talented Lila Kerry say those things, and she makes them so much more disgusting. You can smell and taste everything in this audiobook, and it is an unpleasant (or pleasant depending on your perspective) experience and will caution those who are squeamish but rally up those who are wanting an extreme horror gross-out fest. I’m sure the people surrounding me in traffic got a nice show watching my facial expressions and gagging motions.
Let's move on to the story. It’s a story about a boy, Gordon, who has abusive parents. His father is physically, mentally, and even s***lly abusive. His mother is abusive in a way where she is overbearing, smothering, sheltering, and mentally abusive. As you can imagine, Gordon doesn’t turn out to be normal and is fascinated with his body as well as his mother’s. Lila Kerry pulled off an amazing performance (as she always does) with all the voices, including the little boy and young adult versions of Gordon. It’s a gross and gruesome tale and will be a story that will be read by many for years to come.
I’m going to invoke some gatekeeping and say, “Reading Zola is part of the gauntlet you must run in order to be called an extreme horror reader.”

Excellent Narration!
This book is very well known in the horror community, however, I went in blind. I didn't think anything could really gross me out, but this was the exception. This book was so vile and nasty. The narration of this book was excellent! She described everything with so much detail, that I could smell every smell and imagine what things tasted like. It left me with such a rotten taste in my mouth. Even though I don't want to read anything like this ever again, Lila Kerry was AMAZING!

A Wild Ride
This book was so cheesy! but in the most brutal way, I enjoyed the read and the narrator was fantastic! This is an extreme book for sure, even when nothing faces me. It was told so well and there was plenty of wth moments that just floors the reader. I was cracking up at the narrator's chewing sounds, it definitely placed it in a whole new level! Can't wait to explore more books like this!

Deeper than just Cheese
Wow Just Wow!!!! I can tell the narrator is a momma by the way she expressed herself when the momma found out about Gordon. I'm not going to lie, she made it seem so real ! I could tell the narrator was holding back anger for Gordon in chapter 3 and 4 and I love that! When I read Zola on my own I didn't enjoy it as much as I am now. Hearing someone else tell the story I read already makes it 10x better!! I'm over here cheering, clapping, crying, yelling all in one chapter! ….. Okay I'm in the last chapter and I'm balling my eyes out at work. STANDING F**KING OVATION !!!!! I connected with Gordan in so many ways except the extreme parts of course , the love a child has towards his mother is so strong, stronger than Gordons cheesecakes. Thank you DE McCluskey for this amazing masterpiece and Lila Kerry for holding it together, what an amazing narration!!! By the way this book is not for the weak.

Cheese has always been one of my favorite things to eat…
I had heard amazing things about this book. As a lover of extreme horror, it is surprising that I hadn’t read it until now. It was, however, high up on the TBR list! I have a printed copy, but thought listening to the audio would be fun after the reviews I’ve heard.
Let me tell you… the audio was FABULOUS! After what I’d heard about this book, I thought there was no way I’d be fazed by it.. I’ve read some crazy extreme horror! But I was so so wrong. Haha! Every bit of this is vile and nauseating. But every morsel of it was worth it. This book is never going to leave my head.
Gordon Zola!?!? 🤣😭
On that note - it’s time to make lunch! I think I’ll have a grilled cheese sandwich 🧀🧀

Gross! ❤️❤️❤️
First of McCluskey's books I've read. Solid story, no doubt there. For sure looking forward to more. One of the, if not THE nastiest reads I've come across. Went in blind, and boy was it a trip! Absolutely RELENTLESS with the ick. Would have liked more splatter scenes, but for those who enjoy a good gross-out, DEFINITELY snag this one up!
