His covert tactics are meant to beat you to the punch, and he is nearly always two steps ahead of you. The narcissist stops at nothing to demean, devalue, and destroy those around him. And he has propaganda and an agenda that he is always delivering on an overt or covert basis.

Gaslighting is one of the most devastating tools that exists in the narcissist’s arsenal. If you have been subjected to gaslighting by a skilled narcissist, it is no doubt that you have suffered significant PTSD, Complex PTSD, Cassandra Syndrome, Battered Person Syndrome, and more. You were led to believe that you were damaged, crazy, psychotic, etc. You were led there by someone who was much sicker than you were. Gaslighting is dangerous and devastating.

The egomaniacal narcissist thinks that everyone else should know about his plans, his life, and the things that he is collecting. It never occurs to him that other people have their own life.

The narcissist's partner must prove herself over and over again, but she is never proving herself for anything real. The narcissist always has an out planned, so that it is available to him if ever he wants to leave the relationship. He doesn't get too attached to his partner in case he wants to leave her. If the narcissist catches wind that she might be planning to leave him first, he will initiate a breakup to preempt her. After all, he doesn’t want it to look like he was the one discarded. He wants to make it look like he was the one who discarded her.
