This text has been entitled "Nine Different Ways to Praise the Lord" because nine different Hebrew words in the Old Testament have been translated as "praise" in the scriptures. This letter to the local churches in Galatia is probably Paul's second letter to some of the churches that he had established. His first letter was to the church at Thessalonica. To the Thessalonians, he was much more pleasant because he had just gotten a positive report from Timothy about their good spiritual progress. The idea with this text is that the Proverbs life is a much better life. The reason for saying that is because it leads to either no unpleasant consequences or to very few unpleasant consequences. When this book was begun in late November 2013, the intent was to write a commentary on chapter five of Paul's letter to the church at Ephesus. But about fifty pages into that endeavor, it became clear that the book was not going in that direction. For one thing, his letter to that church had not even been mentioned in those pages.
