Mysterious tech, a devious AI and a couple of scientists in over their heads collide in the latest sci-fi adventure from the number one best-selling author of the Bobiverse series.

Physicist Philip Moray is having a good day. He’s chipping away at his big work project. The lunch in the cafeteria is at least edible. And he’s looking forward to his end-of-the-day drink and a soak in the hot tub.

Then, a strange device turns up in his office. A piece of technology he has never seen before–and shouldn’t even exist.

Suddenly, corpses start turning up, eco-activists go on the attack, random people suffer bizarre symptoms. And every time the authorities get a lead, it traces right back to Philip and his colleague, Celia Hunt.

Then, a mysterious caller contacts Philip–and, suddenly, staying out of jail is the very least of his problems.

Apparently, that hot tub’s going to have to wait.

I've listened to the Bobiverse at least weekly since I found it. I just finished the Outland storyline to current. I'm convinced Dennis + Ray is always a solid choice in SciFi. I think Dennis did a nice job, it's not what I expected from him, but I was pleasantly surprised. And as always, references abound.

Dennis + Ray = Good SciFi

Great sci-fi story, likable characters, and some good old fashioned eco terrorism. I really enjoyed the read from start to finish. Thank you

If there is such a thing as classic Dennis E Taylor, this is it.

And I am never disappointed. I love the references and hidden gems, I love the surprises and twists. Dennis looks at tech and sees the future, then brings it back to us to enjoy.

I pre-order every Dennis E. Taylor

Wrapped this up in one day, and couldn’t be happier. It helps scratch that Bobiverse itch

A perfect one-day listen!

Like what I did there^?
First book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since the TOG series. Not because of its spot on the bandwagon, but for the originality (at the time). Interesting blend of non-fiction and real, current, affairs, which I’m usually not into, but was blended well to make it not too “politically pushy”. Oh, and very relieving to find a sci/fan book that didn’t center around a romance.

I feel like I enjoy stories closer to 8-10 hours. Most of the 18+ hour stories tend to drag. This book had great pacing and a great story. Highly recommended.

Excellent listen

There’s a reason Ray Porter is a legend. His narration was perfect. The story is original, engaging, and went in directions I wasn’t expecting. I’d love to see a sequel to it but seems poised as a standalone. Highly recommend.

Original story, great narration

Great characters, plot twists, end-of-the-world threats, as well as a great whodunnit. Who could ask for more?

Fascinating cautionary tale
