A team had been sent to set things up for the colonists that would be arriving from Earth. It sounded like an easy assignment, but he had learned that Razar never sent the Junior fleet on an assignment like that. They were going to a new colony that was facing a potential epidemic of what sounded like blood fever, a very common and easily dealt with illness. They would go right away because they were needed now. If they had a medical ship, they would be going instead. There would be three doctors and a pathologist on the crew but all of them were trained to work in other positions. At least that should help, right?

When Micar left, he was his second. Now he has a ship of his own and he never thought he would. He’s taking his ship and crew to the wilds of Rigely to bring back an ambassador for a treaty of peace and trade. That’s the easy part. Along the way they’ll have to fight Earth gov’s ships because they want the treaty for themselves. How did he ever get into a mess like this, and will he and his ship make it out?
