S is back from boarding school, and if we aren't careful, she's going to win over our teachers, wear that dress we couldn't fit into, steal our boyfriends' hearts, and basically ruin our lives in a major way. Det er blevet tid til at skrive ansøgning til college. Kommer man ikke ind, er det simpelthen for pinligt. Presset er stort, men jeg nægter at lade mig gå på af det. Dette er sidste år af high school, og vi skal nyde det og sørge for at markere os. Vi har det fineste blod på østkysten – jeg er sikker på, at vi kan finde ud af, hvordan man både blæser og har mel i munden, præcis som vi altid har kunnet. Der er trods alt ingen, der gider være jomfru, når de starter på college.

Sommaren lider mot sitt slut och med hösten kommer stora förändringar. Blairs familj ska flytta till Kalifornien, samtidigt som hon själv ska börja studera juridik på Yale. Nate tvingas välja mellan Serena och Blair, men inser snart att han riskerar att förlora båda två. Blairs mamma håller en fest för henne och hennes nya styvbror Aaron på Metropolitan Museum, och under denna kväll ställs alla gamla konflikter som funnits mellan vännerna på sin spets.
