Mickie McKinney: Boy Detective

Mickie McKinney is Maple Ridge Middle School's one and only private detective. (Not that anyone else wants the job.) So when the new girl is accused of stealing the history test answers, Mickie is the only one who suspects there might be someone else behind the crime. With the help of an orange smudge, the school’s mad scientist, and wisdom of his late father, Mickie is willing to follow the clues and unmask the true culprit…except the new girl doesn’t want his help.

Mickie McKinney is no longer Maple Ridge Middle School’s one and only private detective. Now there is a certain blonde by the name of Sam Hayes to share the office with, and the cases, who keeps giving away the candy! So when Angus McDermitt hires Mickie to help him ask Kailani Groom to the school dance, Mickie sees it as an opportunity to work one last solo case. Too bad for him, Kailani is the girl of his dreams.

After a week of nothing, things are going seriously weird at Maple Ridge Middle School. First, Jamie “Burners” Burns, is asked to be the substitute teacher for the chemistry class, then the class experiments go horribly wrong...and it isn't Mickie's fault. The new man in charge, Principal Morgan, wants to pin the blame on the school's girl genius but Mickie is certain that someone else is behind the whole thing.
