I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. I chose it for the author. This is a provocative & controversial work which many will find offensive. I read this straight through & was glad I did. It is intense, sensual, & sexual yet there are no explicitly erotic scenes. As far as category, it's kind of Forbidden Romance.

Read this in College. I was in LOVE with this story but while I still really like it, it dosen't seem to have the same affect. Good love story!

I can't believe Anne Rice is such a famous author after listening to this drivel of a stupid story. I started reading this as a paperback 40 years ago and didn’t finish it, so wanted to listen to the audio book now. The narrator has a great voice and animates each character. But that's the only positive thing I can say. Waste of two hours. A book like Belinda wouldn't get published today.

Don’t bother. Anne Rice is to be read unabridged or not at all, and the narrator is the worst.
I never delete books but this one is definitely going. Big disappointment.

I read the book years ago and wanted to try audible book...although I realize this is an abridged version it feels like big key sections of the book were taken out that showed the connection between the main characters. Couldn't concentrate on the narrator in the beginning with the background music ever so loud and it didn't sound clear and crisp...I'm listening to another book through audible and it sounds good. Disappointed :(
