About this listen

A top 40 Amazon best seller.

I wasn’t human, not completely. A Lycan—a centuries-old wolflike creature that was feared by all, stronger than anything on the planet, and who was only ever after one thing. My mate.

For over 300 years, I had one purpose in life. Find her, the one female born to be mine. My female who’d cause the Linking Instinct—that supernatural connection that told me she was mine and I hers—to finally take root and make me whole.

And for hundreds of years, I’d been alone, saving myself for my mate, never stopping the search.

Until I scented her, saw her, finally felt my heart beat and the blood rush through my veins with hope and anticipation.

Mine.

She didn’t see me, but she sensed me.

And she ran. She couldn’t possibly know how much the chase turned me on.

I didn’t know how I’d make her understand I could never let her go, that nothing and no one would stop me from making her mine.

Because once a Lycan found his mate…nothing in this world, nothing supernatural or human, could keep him from her.

Meh

Spice 1.5/5🌶️
Trope…insta-love, fated mates.
Not much to the story. If you want a slow-burn , quick read/listen, with an HEA it’s fine.
Narrators are of course- awesome.❤️

Loved this audio!!!!

I loved everything about this book! So glad I decided to start back at the beginning with Ren and Mikalina. I love the premise of the mating and that both have saved themselves for their true match. Ren controls himself so he doesn't frighten Mikalina. She just knows there's something special about him and their connection as crazy as it is. I can't wait to read more!

The audiobook for this is not to be missed! Both Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke were perfectly cast as Ren and Mikalina. I could not get enough of their performance in this story.

Love a fated mate story

This was a really enjoyable fated mates story. The thing I liked most about the storyline was that it focused on the connection of Mikalini and Wren and there weren’t any other obstacles for them to face. It was really all about discovering their love. And the spice was fantastic! Jason and Stella were of course brilliant as the narrators. They always bring so much depth to their characters and really being the story to life.

To Be Continued...?

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the narration sounded. I typically like to speed up the narration but was unable due to the differing speeds and cadence of the narrators. Regardless, thier performance was what kept me listening. MMCs accent was commited and consistently broody, true to his frame of mind. and the MFC was believable as a young, innocent, wandering the World, searching for her purpose.

Unfortunately, I wasnt too thrilled with the plot. it was a slow build, felt a bit forced in some areas, and that one spicy scene (the one that seemed to go forever) was so long that I lost track of whos body parts were where and when. The whole story seemed to be missing conflict... The need to find a mate was strong with this one, so im assuming that was the main conflict. except it really wasn't.

All in all, it felt like a long, drawn out prologue. Wherein, by the time we got to what teased at being an interesting plotline [Luca], the book was over. It was a good tease though.

Needed more storyline

This book would be better if it had more of a plot other than hot pursuit and conquer. The next book appears to add more than this so I will continue with series. Narrators did a great job. Like the accent.

Amazing PNR Romance 🐺🖤

Big Bad Wolf was everything I hoped it would be and more! Anything with supernatural creatures intrigues me, and I knew Jenika Snow would make this a wild ride. She definitely did not disappoint! She is a very talented and detailed writer that can make any PNR highly erotic without the story going bland. This has an “old world” feel that was amazing! Ren, a 300 year old Romanian Lycan shifter has been so desperately lonely. Only after one thing, finding his fated mate. One female born to be his. One that would make him whole. He searched every night for his mate. Night after night, never giving up hope. Finally, he scented her… saw her.. stalked her. His Mate! When a Lycan found his mate, nothing would keep him from her.
Mikalina is a young woman just trying to find her place in the world. She was drawn to this particular Village in Romania for some reason, she was not sure why. One night while she was walking in the dense forest that surrounded her Village she felt something or someone watching her, stalking her. But for some odd reason it did not scare her, even though she didn’t think it was human. When they met it was a definite connection for them both. Ren was so worried that Mikalina would be frightened off by him, especially when he shifted into his horse sized wolf. This passionate, emotionally intriguing story, and WOW.. the most erotic seen in the woods… the details were impeccable. Such a very spine tingling and blood sizzling depiction. There was no angst to get in the way of this beautiful heartwarming story with enough steam to melt you into a puddle.
The narration of this was impeccable. The duet narration of Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter was so impressive.
Stella portrayed Mikalina’s tenacity, boldness, curiosity, passion, and her wariness. I loved hearing her character progress throughout this book . There was so many emotions that she had to go through. Stella was so wonderful with all of them. She really made me believe that Mikalina was Ren’s equal even though he was three times her size. Jason Clarke.. first I would say he’s becoming my favorite PNR male narrator! Just in Ren’s very short prologue he said his signature “M I N E” 4 times, with not only his signature low growl, but with the Romanian accent. He portrayed Ren’s anguish, loneliness, his anger so smoothly. His possessiveness and stalker tendencies I loved. He brought this dark, intense, deliciously dirty talking Lycan to life. He kept his accent perfect throughout the whole story. Perfection!

Dark and alluring shifter romance!

Hot growly goodness! Big Bad Wolf by Jenika Snow was a dark and alluring shifter romance that will give you sexy fairy tale vibes and have you running into the woods instead of away. Mikalina can't deny her mysterious, magnetic attraction toward Ren when she first arrives on a visit to Romania. However, once Ren has the full moon power, he will show her his true self and seal their super HOT fate. (It is one steamy ride...)

This audiobook is narrated in duet by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. I love when these two are paired together, especially in duet. Stella does a great job showcasing Mikalina's conflicted, vulnerable, and passionate emotions as she discovers her own fate and gives in to her deep, dark desires with Ren. Jason fully encompasses Ren's dominant, possessive persona in his signature deep, intoxicating growly accented tone. The way he savagely claimed Mikalina as his female (MINE) was utterly sinful and only showed how intense and powerful their mate bond truly was!

Overall, I enjoyed this audio. If you are a fan of a shifter romance with a HOT alpha Lycan wolf, a spontaneous human heroine looking for an escape, a trip to Romania, walks in the woods, fairy tale cottages, mystical castles, haunting blue eyes, Lycan legends, dinner table shredding, full moon spicy time, and a HEA that will make your heart huff and puff for the big, bad wolf, then you will love Ren and Mikalina's story. I'm looking forward to more Lycan books from Jenika Snow in audio soon!

Outstanding Narration

What I enjoyed most about this book was the narration. Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke are the main reason this story is getting 4 stars. Jason Clarke brought us Ren who is growly with an amazing accent. Stella Hunter was able to portray Mikalina with perfection, she really brought out her vulnerability.

The overall story was just okay for me. This is my first shifter PNR story, so I’ll admit I’m not familiar with the fated mates aspect. I did love how Ren knew his mate was out there somewhere he just didn’t know where or when he would find her. But the moment he sensed Mikalina, he knew she was meant to be his.

Mikalina was in Romania on vacation. She was trying to figure out what she wanted out of her life, she wasn’t expecting to be claimed by Ren or be completely ok and understood what it meant for her life. She felt a pull towards Ren like he did for her. Somewhere deep down she knew they were to be together forever.

I wish the story was a bit longer so that we could have seen more of a build up to their relationship instead of just BAM, mated.

Yes please!

I was leary of getting this, with only 5 ratings, but I read Bite Marks, book 5 first, and it had me enthralled. I am glad I just bought it! Steamy, suspenseful, just enough inner monologue to relate! This is not a wasted credit! On to book three......
