From start to finish I was engaged and taking notes. Practically a therapist on your phone, really good actionable tips and insights from someone who really understands being under the influence. However I wish there could be a new edition of this book with revisions as at times it felt a little dated.
Presumably at the time the book was written high-speed internet adult content was not as prevalent as it is today. Internet content was only occasionally mentioned in-passing and only remedy was to just "set up rules".
it referenced magazines, adult shops, adult movie theaters and topless bars (the latter of which I had to look up because I didn't believe such places existed).
While the principles are still the same and they still are effective such as practicing mindfulness and persistent self dialogue that helps with discipline.
I feel like it could really use an update, barring that its still worth a listen.

I’ve read several books on sex addiction, gone to a couple counselors. They taught me good things. I’ve been in religious men’s groups that helped for a time. But nothing has explained in detail the path to freedom from a practical, objective, scientific, spiritual (but not religious) point of view like this book. The performance by Sean Pratt is also outstanding. This book is delightfully free of fluff and ad nauseum stories. It is rich with truth and contains a workable path to freedom, even from addictions other than sex.
