Alayna Withers' relationship with Hudson Pierce has tested both her and his ability to trust. They decide that the only way they can move forward together is with open doors and transparency. It won't be easy for the scarred lovers, but they're committed to each other more now than ever. Alayna, in particular, has grown through their trials, and has emerged more confident and faithful to the man she loves.

But while the pair is focused on the future, their past shows up again to threaten their fragile bond. Promises that were made are broken, and Alayna learns that Hudson still has very potent secrets - secrets that will tear them both apart. As much as she feels for him, her ability to forgive and forget is tested beyond her limits.

Even though she found the only man who could fix her, a forever with Hudson seems more and more out of reach.

Finally Hudson’s big secret is revealed to Alaina

After 2 books of concern and worry, what Hudson feared comes true. It takes almost half a book for Alaina to talk herself into forgiveness with a lot of truths revealing it was mostly Celia’s fault and that not being honest was as much of the problem as the actual secret. Again this book needed Hudson’s point of view (which can be found in the separate book - Hudson) except for the last chapter- which is Hudson’s. Alaina character is too whiney, immature, and very unforgiving until the last couple of chapters, especially for someone who claimed she’d always forgive anything. You’d think she was perfect or had never gone to therapy. Good they decided on couples therapy since it was clear they’d need some guidance. The HEA at the end was great but a long time coming. Looking forward to reading book 5 which is a continuation of their story since I read Hudson in sections simultaneously with the trilogy to gain Hudson’s POV. Carly Robbins did fine as Alaina but has terrible male voices. Too bad the audible production wasn’t done better because the basic plot was interesting as was the cast of characters.

A good Story

Again, a good story, yet I must repeat myself, Alaina is just as manipulative as She thinks Hudson is. She's the queen of drama, not to mention how she can twist everything against Hudson as if she innocent. For example the scene when Hudson catches her embraced in David's arms, Constantly turning things to her advantage. Not excusing Hudson, but at least he's truly being honest, where Alaina is always so calculating... Sorry, but I simply don't like her. She's fucking exhausting. I really liked the end with Hudson POV

Enjoyable

I love the series as books. I've listened to all three books and the female character was super annoying listening to her. Lot of book 2 and 3 you were inside her head and I didn't want to be there for that long.

Ready to lock Elaina into a box because she is doing the most like the Olympics is in it

Elaina is a complete fool. I read this book thinking it’ll be good but I just want to throw this book at her. If you think he cheating then he is rather it’s emotional mental and physical depending on how you see it. If your this crazy about a person to the point your acting like this you don’t need to be with them. It was the break up for me ,she caused it to happen and now that it did you upset that he don’t wanna deal with you being crazy all the time. If I was Hudson I couldn’t be with her because I felt a headache throughout this.

Another spectacular journey!

Working on trusting one another seems to be paying off in spades for Hudson and Alayna. To ensure that their relationship continues to grow in a healthy manner, both must surrender to themselves and to one another, becoming utterly transparent and honest with one another.

Laying all of their cards on the table has left both, Hudson and Alayna, in positions they have never faced before. They are now completely vulnerable to one another, leaving their guard down to all of those who surround them.

While this newfound vulnerability seems to be bringing them closer, it also has allowed for outside influences to seek their opportunity to break the happy couple up once and for all.

So, it comes as a bit of a surprise, with this fresh honesty and openness, which some old demons from the past come out of hiding. The truth becomes diluted and no one, even our once happy couple, seems to know where the real story begins or ends.

Hudson and Alayna must sort out the truths amongst the stories being spewed; or risk losing their shot at real love. I highly recommend that you read this novel, if you too, happen to be a fan of the complexities that make up the relationship between Hudson and Alayna. You will gain new insight and continue to be drawn in, for another spectacular journey, with characters that are unlike any that I have read before.
