About this listen

Get ready for Trouble (R. S. Grey, USA Today best-selling author) in this New York Times best seller about starting over, finding love, and embracing life's second chances.

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.

Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate - until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past.

Unraveled

This book gets 3 stars because 1) I've always liked J. Daniels, 2) I want more on the secondary characters and 3) it did have a good start. Honestly, it was a 2 star read. A little over the half way point this story unravels. I grew extremely tired of the heroine's constant crying, unnecessary details and inner dialogue. It all wraps up to quick and neat for the drama that was created. I do look forward to more promising books in this series.

I'm glad I used my own judgement on this one!

Where does Four Letter Word rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What about Sebastian York and Kate Russell ’s performance did you like?

I liked all of it. I don't think that Kate was as bad as some of the other reviews had stated and I have enjoyed all of Sebastians other books.

OMGOSH I love it!

It's been so long since I found a new series that I really love but I hit it with this one.. I have been so tired of listening to the same books over and over again.. And every new one I've tried fell flat and left me so disappointed.. I took a chance on this one and I am so glad I did.. To me this is well worth the price or credit..

I love everything about this expecially that male voice yikes I could listen to him talk all day long.

Not exactly the story I expected from the synopsis

Another one that I just loved by the time I finished listening to. It took a bit to get into. It didn't quite follow the storyline I was picturing in my head based on the synopsis. But the way it went was still good. Of course the fact that it was partially narrated by Sebastian York helped as well. There were so many details hinted at, but kept out of reach for our knowing throughout the book, that it kept me on my toes, guessing at why one of them was doing what they were doing. And then there's how long it took for the two of them to actually meet. The near-misses, which honestly, I loved, it kept me guessing at when they would finally meet, and if one or the other would be upset with the one who actually knew who they were first. Daniels knows how to write the steam, I don't need to tell you just how hot and bothered I got listening to certain scenes in this. Even though I knew lying, or you know, just not saying anything about the porn was going to be a big issue at the end, and that kind of getting upset is so irritating to me, in the end the author pulled it back from that issue for me. I can't wait to read on in the series.

She Was Wild; He Was Trouble!

Good story, but narration stole the show, and helped boost the overall rating from 3 to 4 stars. I find stories with mixed reviews tend to have the more intriguing plots, and while Four Letter Word wasn't as intense, or drama filled as other audiobooks, the plot was interesting and held my attention. I liked how J. Daniels takes the concept of calling the wrong number, develops a plot and runs with it. Sydney's wrong call turns into a few innocent back and forth texts with Brian, and they quickly fall into routine of texting, and talking. They flirt, tell secretes, and even come with cute nicknames for each other. It's implied they will never see each other, until the night Brian watches his friend from across the parking lot stop three women from committing vandalism and he recognizes Sydney, his nightly phone call obsession. Brian can't believe Sydney's actually in the same town. She wasn't able to see him across the parking lot and doesn't know just how close they really are, but seeing Sydney changes everything for him.

Brian has been living a double life that has been weighing on him. While he is part owner in a surfer shop, he takes side jobs in the adult industry to earn extra cash fast for someone who he unintentionally hurt. Only handful of his friends know Brian's secrete, and why he's consumed with guilt. As Sydney and Brain develop deeper feelings, he starts to regret his decision to work for Ecstasy, and quits his "dirtier" job, but secretes always have a way of coming out.

The narration really made this story! Both Kate Russell and Sebastian York's performance was awesome!

Overall, decent plot, and good character development. I liked the secondary characters just as much as Brian and Sydney and look forward to their story, Hit the Spot in the Dirty Deeds series.

Meh

Kate Russell was an annoying narrator and the story was insanely long without having much substance. The idea of the story was good but the writing was very YA and sappy. Syd needed to buy stock in Kleenex and get her hormones checked!

Sebastian York was amazing, as usual.

Another winner for J. Daniels

The only recommendation I could make to this book would be could Sebastian York have more speaking parts?
J. Daniels never disappoints. I've been a fan since her first Alabama Summer Series book. J. Daniels writes about girls you want to be and guys you wan to... well, you know what I'm talking about.
I recommend this book to everyone who likes a good steamy romance! 5 hot flaming stars
