About this listen

Data Collection by Dalhousie, Dr. Donna L.

Patient 331
New, confused. His powers unknown.

Patient 289
No longer viable in the test pool, he remains in isolation.

Patient 77Reclassified to staff status. Useful, malleable.

Confined in a sterile research facility and treated like a lab rat, Chris is alone and terrified. His special powers are his only escape, allowing him to psychically connect with other patients.

Alone in his cell for longer than he can remember, Vance is hungry. When newcomer Chris makes a mental connection, Vance is intrigued and soon wants more than just conversation.

Chris and Vance seek comfort with each other, and with Simon - the only staff member who's shown them a hint of compassion. Their relationships develop during stolen moments, and they turn their thoughts to escape. But as Dr. Dalhousie's madness spirals, more than cell walls threaten to keep them apart....

Suspensfull as hell!!!

This was not a fluffy read!!! 🥺It was about paranormal, torture, survival, companionship and the love between three souls/men. It took a chapter for me to get into and understand the book but once I got it, LOOK OUT I couldn't get enough!!! 😚 The narrator Jack LeFleur did an excellent job!!

Unusual story but hard to follow

I enjoyed the uniqueness of the story. It's the only reason I finished it. I found myself hitting the repeat button dozens of times because my mind kept wandering from listening to questioning what was going on. Nothing was explained well enough. I even stopped a hour into the book to research if it was the second or third in a series and all the details had been revealed earlier.

This is my first book by Christine Price and I have to say I am not putting her on my must read list.

Narration was good but not exceptional.

Happily suprised

I been wanting to listen to this book for a long time, but the only other time I listened to Jack LeFleur I was kinda disapointed. So now when I got it in the Romance Package I finaly got a chanse to listen to this book, and I was really suprised to how much better Jack was in this one, making me really like his voice. He did an exelent job with the charachters and kept up a good phase. And the story was really good, always loved a good kidnapping/super power/secret organisation story. I hope for a second one to come out so we can get the unanswered questions answered! Really recommend this book!

Use of "CLEAN" shows ignorance and stigma...

This author uses the term "CLEAN" to denote HIV Status, when there are plenty of other words or phrases that could have been used. Using that term not only shows complete ignorance on the author's part, but also infers that people living with HIV are "DIRTY"

Anyone with even the slightest modicum of compassion would know better than to use such a disgusting term or perpetuate such a nasty stigma!

unexpected

This book was wow. So very unexpected. It was kind of dark and but not Addison Cain dark. lol. Or maybe I'm numb to darkness these days. At any rate this book kept me thoroughly engaged throughout the whole book. The narrator was great. All of the characters' voices we're distinct. This was a go through hell to get to the HEA. It was worth it though. I'm getting ready to read the next book featuring Agent Matt and Brennan.

Dark with Great Ending

Dark themes of false imprisonment and experimentation, but excellent just desserts served to the one who deserves it most.

Great set of books. Narrator good for this one.

Love the sweet love and self-discovery.

These make me happy. I come back to them again and again. I wish there was a book 3. But neither books 1 or 2 are cliffhangers.

Actually, its multidimensional.

I found this book interesting and enjoyable. Worth your time. Not the usual story retold.

One dimensional

What could Christine Price have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I never understood how and why the social bonds formed between the "heros" of this story. There was no explenation, just boom! and there it was. All the characters felt one dimensional most of the time. This book should have been shorter, and then maybe it wouldn't have felt so empty of substance.

Any additional comments?

Jack LeFleur was good. Try A Reason to Believe instead.
