Publisher's summary

Dear Listener,

I began writing the Night Trilogy in 1987. I’m very proud of all three novels. Perhaps Night Fire is my favorite simply because it’s so different from the other two.

In Night Fire, Arielle Leslie is a sixteen-year-old forced to wed Paisley Cochrane,a sadistic old man who abuses her. When he dies, she believes herself free. But she’s not.

Burke Drummond, Earl of Ravensworth, a young man she’d worshipped three years before, is home from the wars, and he wants her.

Burke and Arielle are two people who have touched me deeply. Together they faced problems and obstacles never spoken of in the Regency time.

If you haven’t read Night Fire, do give it a try. See if you don’t agree with me that Arielle and Burke are two very special people.

Don't miss a minute!

I love this Trilogy. Each book has characters completely different from each other but are sprinkled into the next book. So much fun! Perfect for summertime listening.

Different, interesting.

The storyline is includes sexual abuse, and mental illness, the focus is much more.

Performance is given a lower rating as I compare all to another narrator. For me, Rosalyn Landor sets a very high standard.

hated this book!

I like Coulter as writer but bvb this book is entirely inappropriate in my opinion. tape, abuse, submission, etc. all these are to be discouraged. somehow I felt like even though the good guy was rescuing her because he loved her..by kidnapping, drugging, and using her conditioning as her abusers did!! really, there is nothing romantic or inspired by love and I am disappointed in this book and storyline. Really off the charts n socially inappropriate!!!

One of the worst stories I have ever heard.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book was lacking in a realistic storyline. It was difficult to get into the book because the characters were so odd and slightly disturbing. The heroine went from victim to acting high as a kite, which apparently was supposed to signify her becoming emotionally stable?? The male lead was slightly abusive and I just could not connect with the character. I couldn't finish this book... literally, this was the first book in my life that I just cannot finish due to the horrible story line. Very disappointing.

Would you ever listen to anything by Catherine Coulter again?

Likely not.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was okay, but the baby voice of the heroine was odd and threw off the listening experience.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No redeeming qualities that I can come up with.... really.
