Worst performance

Ms Flosnik has the WORST voice for audio. Love C Coulter books, but almost didn’t listen because of Ms Flosnik

Well done

What I love about these books is you can re-read them and still enjoy as if it was the first time the stories are that well done.

Needs someone else reading

listening to the horrid pronunciation of the lady reading the story almost made me put it down. at times, it is very hard to understand what she is saying. it may just be her accent, but a clearer reader would have been nice.
the book is awesome, however. I highly recommend it for your next read!

I enjoy the narrative by Anne Flosnik.

Anne Flosnik makes the story real. the novel moved along without too many sex scenes that don't add to the plot.

"hero" rapes his wife

I thought I would try out this book because a later book in this series was recommended to me and I don't like to start series midways through. I finshed the story but i really didn't like the relationship between h/H.
*** spoilers from here***
they meet when she is in pants "dueling" with her brother. all very cute and I enjoyed the beginning of their friendship/courtship but when she turns down his marriage proposal and takes a canning from her abusive father and still refused to marry him... things moved very quickly into stalker territory, because he has the means to get her away from her father and thinks her refusals stem from maidenly fears he continues to push his suit even though she continues to say no... after fleeing the country and him catching her she gives up and marrys him so he won't drug and strip her. jump to weeks later of them bickering and his denied lust building he kidnaps, drugs, ties her to a bed, blindfolds, and rapes her (he shows her pleasure to assuage her maidenly fears. she'll get over it.) when raping her he realizes she isn't a virgin. he is angry with her and doesn't tell her it's him just drugs her again and takes her home telling her he found her on the side of the road and her horse must have thrown her. she decides not to tell him she was raped by a masked stranger. once she sleeps she is thrown into night terrors from a burried memory of her being gang raped as a child then beaten and blamed by her father. when she wakes she knows the fear but not the memory and turns to her husband that decides to not push her on the sex issue anymore. eventually she comes comes to know he was her rapist and she was raped as a child too and after some more bickering spats and chilly silences and then her kicking him out she comes to him and they live happily ever after. she was very outgoing and fun in the beginning she liked all the "manly" hobbies (boxing, fencing, shooting, dueling, riding, fishing) I do t know why she never stabbed him at the dinner table.

The Rebel Bride

Excellent narration by Anne Flosnik. Quite an emotional story. Excellent writing, but subject matter may be difficult for some to listen to. I love Catherine Coulter's writing, but this was was a bit difficult for me personally, due to events of my past. Love the powerful ending however.

an entire book about head drama

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book had promise, but then turned into a bitchy woman being mean, ugly, and everything that is horrid about a head case woman. yes, she was raped as a child, and I don't even mind Coulter addressing the issue, but seriously?! an entire book about someone being psycho when she had been a likeable character? save it for the psych magazines, not pleasure reading

Would you ever listen to anything by Catherine Coulter again?

yes, I love some of her books - like Lord Harry. Fabulous book

What does Anne Flosnik bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

she has a great narration style, but can't save a bad story

Don’t do it.

I know, times have changed but this was horrible. There should be a warning for sexual violence victims.
