When my manager assigns me the task of finding a new wake-up call service for our CEO, I think, how hard can this be? Answer: practically impossible.
It turns out that no wake-up call company in the world will take him on as a client. They’ve all had enough of his surly personality. So, in an effort not to lose my job, I secretly start making the calls myself, every day at 4:30 am sharp. OMG yes, you read that right - four freaking thirty in the morning.
Here's a confession: I’m not the nicest wake-up-call girl at that hour. Hello! Who wakes up before the roosters are even crowing? Luckily, he doesn’t seem to mind my get-your-ass-out-of-bed attitude.
Day by day, we’re becoming closer, and the calls start turning hot...like pay-by-the-minute hot and oh-so-wild. Snuggled under the covers with the moonlight streaming through the windows, we divulge our secrets to each other, but the one thing that he can never find out is that the sexy vixen who wakes him up every morning is just the lowly assistant who wears frumpy dresses. I can only imagine his disappointment.
Now, he wants to take me out on a date and he’s scouring Manhattan to find me. He’s an overachieving billionaire bent on a mission. How much longer can I keep up this charade?

Theo is the swoony, surly, distracted Billionaire CEO Scientist who is fixated on making his next life-saving formula work and Lizzie is a feisty strong employee of his who is just trying to pick herself up after her scoundrel ex boyfriend swindled her out of her dreams and her savings. She hopes to start her bakery business again one day, she’s desperately working to survive a loan shark’s threats and she’s trying to last a whole month in her new job so she can get the much needed bonus. Desperation and the best of intentions backfire on Lizzie which has a life-changing impact on hers and Theo’s lives because their combustible chemistry clicked, their snappy humorous dialogue over the phone freely flowed and their passion for each other never wavered.. but there’s an end date, a b’tchy boss, a secret and the scars left by a con-artist all standing in their way.
Worth a credit? Yes, this was an expertly narrated, drama-lite, fun, sexy and passion-filled dual POV journey with character growth in a sweet storyline that builds delicious anticipation. But the “he saids” “she saids” “he says” “she replies” etc., etc., in the conversations did threaten my enjoyment a few times.
AN UNSTOPPABLE SWEET & SNARKY ROM COM

Alright. Moving on. Theo is growly, controlling perfection. Lizzy has the best “gives no Fx” snark;
that girl is feisty. There is the briefest connection to book one at the end, but this works perfectly fine as a standalone. Five delicious, mouthy stars.
Talk dirty to me!

If I had any issues with this book, it would have to be during the second half when most of their issues surrounded Lizzie getting in her own way. I much prefer external drama in relationships. Mainly because the characters preventing a relationship always feels a little weak and manufactured, like it shouldn’t be a real problem. I just wanted to sit her down and be like “look, by leaving you are allowing your ex to steal far more from you than he did initially. Don’t let him continue to steal from you.” I still wish she’d had that particular realization, but at least she finally got out of her own way.
I do also wish Sasha had gotten more than that anticlimactic little confrontation. They were all too nice.
Despite those complaints, this book was amazing and a well-earned five stars. I always struggle to find good books I am willing to spend my credits on, so I will definitely check out other books by this author.
