About this listen

Nathaniel West doesn’t lose control.

As the playboy CEO of West Industries, he governs the boardroom during the day; as a strict dominant with exacting rules, he commands the bedroom at night. He never takes on inexperienced submissives, but when Abigail King’s application comes across his desk, he breaks his own restrictions and decides to test her limits.

Abby’s combination of innocence and willingness is intoxicating, and Nathaniel is soon determined to collar her as his own. As long as she follows his orders and surrenders herself fully to him, no one will get hurt.

But when Nathaniel begins falling for Abby on a deeper level, he realizes that the trust must go both ways - and he has secrets which could bring the foundations of their entire relationship crashing down....

Nice insight into Nathaniel

This was a good book. Yes, it's the same story as the first book, however there are differences. You get to hear it from Nathanael's point of view. See how he feels and reacts to the same situations; conversations he has with his friends, etc. Book 1 only gives Abby's side for the most part. The narrator ended up being good. He was very robotic at times but did well at changing his voice for the different characters. Based on the sample provided I almost didn't buy because of his robotic tone but I'm glad I did now.

My Review of The Dominant

It was a review of book 1 it seems to be from Nathaniel's perspective this time. It gives a little more but basically the same as book 1. I wasn't expecting to read book 1 over. The narrator did a good job. However having 2 narrators a man and a woman would be better. On to The Training.

The narrator made the book extremely boring.

I really enjoyed the first two books, The Submissive and The Training. I must say this book could have been as enjoyable but the narrator was so boring, so dry and he talked so slow. Too bad because I really was looking forward to hearing Mr. West point of view. I couldn't finish it.

Better than I thought

What made the experience of listening to The Dominant the most enjoyable?

The story was told from the males point of view. It brought his character out.

Which character – as performed by William Sharpe – was your favorite?

I think that all of the characters were great and they all played an important part in the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The parts that moved me most was how Nathaniel's family treated Abbey. They didn't take Nathaniel's side just because he was family.

Any additional comments?

I loved this story because it had a good story line. I'm not caught up in the sex part of romance novels. That part is only good if there is a good story line behind it. With this said, even though I rated this 4 stars because it had a good story line, in my opinion it still was not as good as Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.

Getting closer to a real D/s relationship

If you could sum up The Dominant in three words, what would they be?

Pays 2 b good

Which scene was your favorite?

Sex in public at the Super Bowl

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed - no tears though, even during the accident.

Any additional comments?

Although Nate's perspective was more interesting, he's gets a bit emo sometimes.

Liked the story but....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, couldn't get past the readers voice.

What other book might you compare The Dominant to and why?

50 shades is the most obvious, but they are completely different

Would you be willing to try another one of William Sharpe’s performances?

No

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

A Love Story

Nathaniel and Abigail should be on HBO. Sue Me should have a series with these good books she has written!

I Didnt expect that!!

I like this 2nd book in the trilogy because I never expected to hear a man's point of view to the same story.. it was refreshing. As a female I like knowing how the opposite sex is reacting so now I have both sides of the coin and I like it...
