Overall I really enjoyed the story although the characters annoyed me at times. The main issue is Emily Beresfords voice who does Katherines character. I dont think I have ever heard such a horrible voice in all the audible books I have listened to. Katherine is supposed to be beautiful and sexy and it was not portrayed properly with the narrator. It was like listening to a detective from an old 40s movie. Her pitch, cadence, delivery, and tone were absolutely horrible which almost made the book intolerable. The narrator that did Alexis voice was all that was needed and had the perfect voice for Katherine.

I really loved the story and how it just pulls you back and forth between the 2 main characters and was looking forward the book 2. I was a little upset to see the same person narrating the book however. She just does not have the soft caressing voice that some of the scenes in that book required. She reads great don't get me wrong but she does not acclimate well to the story. There was another narrator as well in this book who had a very nice voice and very calm and smooth. Love the book!

Awesome story, not so great on the narration

Not a fan of how Emily Beresford narrates and it does not at all mix well with Felicity. At some points I actually wanted to skip over Emily's parts.

Narrator issues

Cathy’s heart wasn’t ready for all the feelings coming it’s way. This book was a cliff hanger right up to the end, but it deserves to be heard. Off to my next adventure.

Worth the wait!

Overall I enjoyed the story. I read this first a while back and wanted to listen to it. I really hate to badmouth someone’s work, but I just can’t get through this review without saying that Emily Beresford should NOT narrate romance novels. Just no!!! Maybe she would be good for a thriller/suspense novel or something. She reads everything like it’s a chase scene. A couple of times I was able to tolerate her narration when she actually slowed down and softened her voice but that was rare.
Fortunately this novel is not only narrated by her. Felicity Munroe’s reading as Alexis was well done. The only criticism I have there is that when I read the book I heard Alexis with a less feminine voice. To me anyway, the author gave the impression Alex was more towards the butch side than femme but I guess that is mostly up to the reader’s interpretation.
So if you like Emily Beresford’s style, absolutely get this one. If you are more like me…see her name and cringe…maybe try the third book in this series or just read them instead. I love Diana Kane’s work and highly recommend.

I cried. I laughed. I learned something new. I plan on devouring the next two books. Happy they were in my plus catalog.

The narrators Were great. The husky voice is sexy asf.

The storyline was refreshing but I didn’t enjoy the epilogue. I was hoping for a slightly different ending, but I enjoyed the book greatly. The erotic scenes were hot and wish more couples were as open to experiencing pleasure as in the book. In the audible version, I don’t prefer having two people read, I prefer just one person, especially since Felicity Munroe creates great voices for each character.

Enjoyable erotic scenes:)

I'm a first time reader of Diane Kane, so I was pleasantly surprised by this book! The character were likeable and pretty decently splashed with depth. I wasn't expecting the level of explicitly, but quickly began to enjoy the scenes... Good add with the light BDSM theme! The narration was saved by FM because EB's voice really does a number on the senses. I feel like she is out of breath and running through every scene Overall, I did enjoy the book and look forward to the next!

Overall, good book!!

At first I hated Katherine. She seemed whiny and manipulative. As she grew to understand herself that went away and I grew to enjoy her more… The intimate connection grows slowly and frantically like a teenage first love - in a pure and honest way… the very grown up relationship springs from that trust and deep love… the sex and intimacy are beautifully described. The ending is perfect for these two…I look forward to the next book in the series
