Publisher's summary

The last thing event planner Tara Lincoln needs is the jet-set lifestyle of a football pro like Mick Riley, even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand proved that Mick is an all-star - both on the field and in the bedroom.

Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn't intend to put herself out there again, especially with a certified heartbreaker. But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind to catch this sultry vixen.

Just what I needed

I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the characters and the relationship between all the characters. Tara's love and protective relationship regarding her son was realistic to me. The chemistry and sex between Tara and Mick were heart warming. I would re-read this book and recommend it to others.

Couldn’t Finish

The narration is so bad that I couldn’t even finish. She sounds like a robot who is just reading from the book. Sorry for the bad review

I think this is most women's fantasy!!

Would you listen to The Perfect Play again? Why?

Um... YES!! I listened in almost one sitting!! I had to turn it off because I couldn't stay awake anymore :) I didn't want to miss anything!

What did you like best about this story?

Being a mother myself, I can put myself in Tarah's shoes. Her son means everything to her and she wars with herself about being completely devoted to him or to allow herself happiness for the first time in her life.

What does Lucy Malone bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lucy told an amazing story! You know who she is at every point, there is no confusion about who is speaking. I just got lost in the story, not in trying to figure what she was doing right or wrong.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It did make me a little teary at several points.

The Perfect Play

Okay, I wanted to really like this one more but something held me back from giving it 5 stars. Mick is so loving and all in once he figures out what he wants and he wants Tara and her son, Nathan, but she is just too insecure. Tara Lincoln is a single mom and event planner and meets Mick, the pro quarterback at an event she produced. Soon he is front and center in her life and taken her son under his wing. Too bad his agent cannot stop pushing starlets at him and photo ops and trying to get Tara out of the picture. Definitely going to continue with this series on audio.

love her books

I loved the story, as always. only thing I kinda of thought about was how the narrator tended to be monotone, no emotion. just reading a script.

Sweet & Sexy Football Romance - No Violence

While I'm not much of a football fan, I really liked the character of Mick, an NFL player who was strong, sexy and actually liked & respected the female gender.

When he meets Tara, a single mother too busy to date, Mick slowly wins her over with charm, thoughtfulness and a great body - no sexual domination or bullying involved. There is explicit sex, but nothing degrading or violent.

As this is my first book by Jaci Burton, I hope the rest of this series is fun & light; I am so tired books about selfish, sadist men who enjoy hurting the women they "love".

Touch Down

Would you listen to The Perfect Play again? Why?

Yes, I would. It was a really good book.

What did you like best about this story?

That Mick was not perfect. That he had issues and was able to deal with them and rise above them.

Have you listened to any of Lucy Malone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, This was my first book read by her.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Love on the 50 yard line.

Any additional comments?

Nice book with lots of passionate love scenes. Over all I thought it was very good. The narrator was good but not the best I have hear. Tavia Gilbert has spoiled me for all other female narrators.
