About this listen

Joseph Ingram made the mistake of stealing from me - four million dollars. He took my intelligence without paying for it. And thought he could get away with it.

Think again.

Now I'll take something from him - something irreplaceable.

His sister.

Collateral.

But even when Joseph doubles the amount of money he owes me, I don't give her up.

Nope. I have an image to maintain.

So I keep her.

And I'm not giving her up.

AWESOME.. BUT BEWARE A CLIFFHANGER TRILOGY TRAP

Wow.. where do I begin.. this listen was dark, chilling, thrilling, epic, raw, sensual and absolutely unstoppable. It draws you in from the start as the heinous kidnapping of the innocent heroine chills you to the bone ~ and the casual yet sinister demands the alpha anti-hero delivers on his captive makes you fear for her safety and sanity. A slave, a prize, a punishment, a pawn, a toy, a lover.. and always and forever a prisoner owned by one very very dangerous and secretive man. Complying with his demands is not in this strong-minded heroine's DNA, escape is futile.. been there done that and got the marks and hot memories to prove it and giving in is simply unacceptable.. or so she thought.

Joseph Ingrams messed up big time stealing $4m from Crewe who is a cold heartless ruthless businessman/criminal and more.. because Crewe gets revenge on the people who dare to double-cross him. And what better way than to capture a beloved sister who is ignorant of her brother's deeds and crimes. Yet she will be snatched, imprisoned, stripped, shamed, punished, threatened and pleasured into submission by Crewe, the heartless psychotic Scotch King (and ladies it wasn't ALL bad!!).

London was training to be a Doctor when her world suddenly imploded and changed from a happy NY life of busy streets, Coffee Shops, studies and working out - to a dark cold prison cell, a soulless demanding captor, armed bodyguards, hopelessness and fear. Fear for her life, fear for her sanity, fear for her future and fear for her undeserving brother. But, as London slowly gets to know her handsome sexy charismatic captor, she starts to learn what makes him tick, what makes him angry, what makes him smile.. and what makes him hard. London also learns that there's a lot of mental scars below Crewe's shell of indifference.. an impenetrable shell she's about to try to break so she can reach his cold dead heart.. so she can make him fall in love with her.. so she can escape. But that folks is sadly.. and annoyingly, another story.

Worth a credit? Yes if you like a deliciously dark listen.. hero's secretive, moody, bad and all mega-alpha.. but there's no rape scenes ~ he's certainly not a pussycat but he's not a monster either. There's a very addictive dual POV storyline as dynamics, push/pull banter and good old sexual chemistry turns mutual hate into mutual attraction. This leads to passion and the stirring of feelings - feelings which will eventually change the planned course of everyone's lives. Secrets, some secondary sinister characters, suspense, revelations, edge of your seat drama, angst, hot sexy times, a very strong feisty smart heroine and a mega-rich dangerous anti-hero you love to hate.. hate to love.. then just love. Good narration brought it all to life and made it a very creditworthy listen.

AWESOME!!!!

This book is a great start to this series. I love that London is a strong and feisty character and Crewe is just a sexy alpha male. Looking forward to see what happens in book 2.

Only semi-pro

The book was wonderful but the recording ... not so much. The man’s voice sounded professional and crisp while the woman’s part sounded as if it was recorded in a box. It was noticeable every time the characters changed.

SPECTACULAR STORY

Though I knew it would be good I didn't think it would turn into one of my favorite series. Even with the darkness of the beginning this book sucked me in quickly. The hot sex didn’t hurt either. The narration was excellent. Loved it.

I am obsessed!

I loved the narration, especially the male narrator. I liked him so much that I am searching for more romance narrated by him.

I loved the Scotch trilogy so much that I moved right to the Button books. Penelope Sky has just jumped to my top authors list.

Reading order

...This series should be read before the Buttons series. For the simple reason, it takes place BEFORE Crowe and Pearl! Wish I knew that before I started listening to Penelope Sky.

Story need development

I listened to this story with high hopes, but was disappointed.

Story is an ok plot--BUT! The writing needs work. The narration is far better then the writing. The writing is not up to par.

Better luck next time.

Buttons rip off... not even subtle!

I was just waiting for something to be different about these characters than Pearl and Crow... but wow it was like the characters from the Buttons stories got new vackstories and pasted into another book. if that's what people want, cool. But audio books are expensive and to spend upwards of 20 bucks almost the same thing as what I just finished reading was a slap in the face. I don't think I can go on to the second one unless I see some serious reviews saying to give it a chance.

Not the “Scotland” novel I was looking for!

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I clearly did not do my research before getting this. Can’t judge a book (audio or paper) by its cover.....warning - this is NOT a good option for Diana Gabaldon fans after finishing the Outlander series!!! Oops.
Writing is juvenile, repetitive & the content is about kidnapping, rape, etc. if that’s your thing then ok. But not what I had in mind!
