About this listen

When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actress, it's a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best-friend agent, will that dream become a reality - or at 33, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? And when an unexpected sizzling romance with Jack Hamilton, the entertainment industry's newest "it" boy, threatens to shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life, how will that affect her career... and his?

Funny, borderline neurotic Grace is perfect in her imperfections, and the sexual chemistry between her and charming yet blissfully unaware Jack is off the charts. With laugh-out-loud dialogue and a super-steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the paparazzi has never been so fun.

I loved Alice Clayton's Wallbanger, so I was definitely interested in checking out more of her books. The Unidentified Redhead is the start of a good series, however, the narrator was just too much. I almost didn't want to continue listening, but I got into it after a bit. First of all, she rushed through much of the dialogue--not sure why, but, a pause here, a sigh there really adds to the overall emotion of a story and character. Secondly, the Brit sounded more like a stereotypical Midwestern local or New Yorker. I didn't get this pairing of narrator to story at all. Despite the wretched narration, I loved this book and will definitely get the remaining in the series because it's just a really good love story and I'm sucker for that!

I'm looking forward to finding out how things unfold for these two lovebirds. I love the Brit, I love the relationship between the two of them and if you're in the mood for a quirky, sweet love story you'll definitely want to check this one out.

5 Star Story, HORRIBLE Narration

fantastic narration, fun story and great writing, not formulaic, romantic not too bawdy steam but I do wish Jack's narration to have more of an English accent

laugh out loud

What did you love best about The Unidentified Redhead?

It's a light listen

What other book might you compare The Unidentified Redhead to and why?

I never like comparing novels. It's apples and oranges. Each novel and author are individuals with individual thoughts.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

This was my biggest pet peeve. She goes on and on over her "Brit" and how much she LOVED HIS ACCENT, and it was none existing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I usually do but it was difficult to distinguish between characters. I had to take a break from the narrator.

Any additional comments?

If a major character has an accent, MAKE SURE THE LISTENERS CAN HEAR IT!

British Accent????

Any additional comments?

Thoroughly enjoyed the three books in the Redhead series! It's been a long time since I've listened to a good book, really got into the storyline and narration was perfect! Felt like I could really get to know and like the main character! Makes me think I'll be going back for other Alice Clayton books!

Loved this Trilogy about the Redhead

Written in a very fun, comical, yet sexy style. I'll be looking for the next in the series and more by this author!

Loved it!

I have seen some of the people I follow refer to this book as humorous and having adult situations actually happen in a book...real problems, real people...so I finally tried it. It was funny, very funny, like don't listen to on your iPod because people will look at you like you are deranged when you laugh and cringe, sometimes in the same minute!

So, we pick this story up with Grace who wanted to live the Hollywood dream and hit it big and be a household name.....but that didn't work out, so she slunk back to nowheresville and told stories on occasion of the time she almost was an actress. Her friend Holly invited her back out to try again....33 isn't THAT old and now Holly is a big time agent and might be able to make things happen, so Grace tries again. In the midst of trying she meets THE guy that everyone is talking about, the 24 year old hunk of man candy who gets her and she in turn gets him....this is book 1 detailing how they met, book 2 should be fun to see where this goes.

I wish the narrator had chosen a different approach. Her inflection was off in what the characters said they felt and how she portrayed them and for some reason everyone had a New York accent....even the British guy! Thankfully the narrator didn't try and do British but hearing the words shag and knickers with a New York accent wasn't too pleasant either!

Overall I liked the book. The romance wasn't perfect, the people are flawed, and you just aren't sure if there will be a happy ending for these folks. So, I recommend this book go into your wish list and when it goes on sale you will be notified by audible.

An imperfect romance, how refreshing!

I enjoyed the story very much. I had a hard time putting it down. It is a good thing that audio books allow a person multitask!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I don't know if it's just the character of Grace or the way the performer is voicing her but she annoys my life.

How could the performance have been better?

USE A DAMN BRITISH ACCENT IF THE CHARACTER IS BRITISH!!!!!!!

Perfomance is a mehhhh

Alice Clayton is my new favorite make me laugh out loud author. I loved this book as much as Wallbanger. The banter is LOL funny, the story moves easily and who can resist a crazy redhead? If your looking for something lighthearted that will put a smile on your face, this is it. Please note, this is the first of a two book series.

CUTE and ENTERTAINING....
