About this listen

Everyone knows that Tony Landon's dated dozens of different men and women since he joined the athletics department at the Falconer Institute of Training. Everyone who's ever gossiped with one of his exes knows that he's kinky, too.

Donovan's reputation at the institute is different. The only reason people are pretty sure he's gay is because he drinks at the same pub as most of the gay and bi Falconer guys, and he's never actually said he's straight when he's brushed them all off.

Tony's been flirting with Donovan ever since Donovan joined the institute's archery program. Even though a whole year has passed and Donovan's never given him the slightest encouragement, Tony can't quite convince himself to give up hope.

Donovan has his reasons for not flirting back whenever Tony hits on him - right up until a snippet of overheard gossip lets him in on an interesting fact that just might change everything.

The odds are stacked against two very different men ever finding happiness together, but as far as Tony and Donovan are concerned, it's still worth a shot.

Author note: While this story can be listened to as a standalone title, some elements might make more sense if you've already listened to Worth Waiting For.

Donovan is a beautiful character. Kim Dare writes damaged characters better than anybody else, that's for sure. Worth a Shot is a lovely hurt/comfort, D/s romance.

The audio is performed by Joe Arden.

A Lovely Hurt/Comfort Romance

I really enjoyed this story, as well as the earlier Worth Waiting For. They were both a bit unique in settings, circumstances, and personalities, which made the reading interesting. I do think a good hour’s worth of angst could have been deleted. Both couples were operating on incorrect assumptions about their partner’s motivations. The endings on both were also a bit too abrupt though. After all the angst we went through in both books, we deserved a little bit more of life after it.

Good narration, all in all, worth a read!

Good story, lots of angst though

Not sure if it was the plot or the narrator’s voice, but I loved this from beginning to end. So wonderful to have the right voice for the story.

Great book

In love with the FIT characters

Donovan needs to feel safe and finds an opportunity to try to move on. Tony is also smart enough to take an opportunity when found. Of course after that both need to learn about really being open and telling the whole truth.

Feeling Safe

I absolutely loved this story! Kim Dare is a master at intertwining just the right amount of angst and fluff into her stories and I can't wait to read more of her work!

I highly recommend this story! It's very well written and the narrator did an amazing job!

Boring. Gave up during chapter 3. Cliched and uninteresting story. The narrator's voice for the main character was irritating.

Bored before I even began
