Story
When I left my old life behind, I thought I’d seen the worst of it. Turns out, I was wrong. Six months after discovering I’m a Warlock, surviving my first semester at a magic college filled with witches, and forming a coven with my roommate, things are getting complicated. Just as I’m starting to make sense of Willowmere and the Witch Families that want me bound to them—or dead—Morgan, the closest thing I had to family in foster care, shows up. Only she’s got magic of her own.

I had lain down in my crypt to rest for a few decades, but when I awoke, centuries had passed. My castle is in ruins, my clan is gone, and necromancers are considered just a fairy tale for children. They take me for a healer. That's because the world is sick. And it's time for strong medicine.

Story
Opal is a lot of things—orphan, high school dropout, full-time cynic and part-time cashier—but above all, she's a determined to find a better life for her younger brother Jasper. One that gets them out of Eden, Kentucky, a town remarkable for only two things: bad luck and E. Starling, the reclusive nineteenth century author of The Underland, who disappeared over a hundred years ago. All she left behind were dark rumors—and her home. Everyone agrees that it’s best to ignore the uncanny mansion and its misanthropic heir, Arthur. Almost everyone, anyway.

So many holes in the story.
No one, not even the 12 year old says hey let's hide the book that's going to get us arrested?
The voice of the Apothecary was hard to listen to.
No one thinks to say, "No". And in present time, she just breaks into the building, just like that?
And it takes so much time to figure her husband took the eucalyptus wrong on purpose?
I just kept waiting for these smart women to hide the book....

Vivien Stone lost the love of her life over 20 years ago. Now that she’s in her 40s with a string of meaningless relationships under her belt, she can't help but pine for what might have been. But things don't go as planned and what was meant to be a romantic reunion takes a turn for the bizarre.

Story
I have a daughter who knows nothing about my life in Hallow Hill, and she's coming for college holiday break. Her visit will dovetail the Solstice Court Meet. It will be close, but if all goes according to plan, I’ll be out of magistrate robes in time to meet the plane. The problem here is that I have to include the qualifier if all goes according to plan, and I ask you. When has anything in my life ever gone according to plan?

I don't write reviews.
But the voice of the daughter was so heinous.
If Mae West grew up in LA I can only imagine this would be the result. Everything else was pretty good. How can we even somewhat like her, sounding like that?
This is the only reason I won't read the rest of the books.

Story
“He fixes everything that’s wrong with you in three days.” This is what hooks Sam when he first overhears it at a fancy dinner party in the Hollywood Hills: the story of a globe-trotting shaman who claims to perform “open-soul surgery” on emotionally damaged people. For neurotic, depressed Sam, new to Los Angeles after his life in New York imploded, the possibility of total transformation is utterly tantalizing. He’s desperate for something to believe in, and the shaman - who promises ancient rituals, plant medicine, and encounters with the divine - seems convincing.

Well read. So much self loathing. At times I just wanted to yell, put someone else first! Help others. Your problem is you think only of YOU.
The end of the journey was good. I will think of the ending for a long time. And that' make it worth the read.

Story
Long ago, the world fell into twilight, when the great empires of old consumed each other in sorcerous cataclysms. In the south, the Star Towers fell, swallowed by the sea, while the black glaciers descended upon the northern holdfasts, entombing the cities of Min-Ceruth in ice and sorcery. Then from the ancient empire of Menekar, the paladins of Ama came, putting every surviving sorcerer to the sword and cleansing their taint from the land. The pulse of magic slowed, fading like the heartbeat of a dying man. But after a thousand years, it has begun to quicken again.

The story is great. The hero is 16 and sounds 8 years old. The Italian accents are horrible and distracting. Women sound like men and can't figure out who's taking!!! But the writing is great. Hard to get through because of the confusion in narration. I'm sorry Guy. This book was too much for you. Too many accents, and evil demons sound stupid.

Story
The “Prey” novels by Pulitzer prize-winning journalist John Sandford consistently make the best-seller lists, but they are not for the faint of heart. Featuring Minneapolis Lieutenant Lucas Davenport, these thrillers are raw, graphic, and impossible to put down. In Eyes of Prey, a depressed and unfocused Davenport takes on a macabre case, tracking down a serial killer who maims the eyes of his victims after he has murdered them.
