Story
Spensa made it out of the Nowhere, but what she saw in the space between the stars has changed her forever. She came face to face with the Delvers, and finally got answers to the questions she’s had about her own strange Cytonic gifts. The Superiority didn’t stop fighting for galactic dominance while she was gone, though. Spensa’s team, Skyward Flight, was able to hold Winzik off, and even collect allies to help with the cause, but it’s only a matter of time until humanity—and the rest of the galaxy—falls.

The books are well written. The characters are great! The story is solid. The emotional beats get you in the feels, as they should. And they are laugh out loud funny. I had trouble turning it off to go to sleep.

Terrible
Reviewed: 05-12-22
I was really into the idea of this book and the only good thing about it is representation and the sex scenes.
This book is terrible. The point of view changes badly. One of these point of view interruptions out right tells you the twist. Not that it wasn't predictable as hell, but come on. The main character and almost all of her relationships are horrible & shallow. The only meaningful relationships she has are with the dead and the women she sleeps with. And I stress meaningful, not good, because the relationships with the other women are not good.
On top of that I didn't like the reader. I only finished this book to give an honest review. While it does get a smidge better by the end of the book, it still doesn't reach okay or even mediocre. I have every intention of returning it if possible.

Story
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

The book is Great. The series is Great. The narrator is Great. I love it all.
The only complaint I have, and it's a small one, is the names. I find several of the names to be too close to each other, not to mention that everyone seems to have several, it gets a tiny bit confusing.

All her life, Spensa has dreamed of becoming a pilot. Of proving she's a hero like her father. She made it to the sky, but the truths she learned about her father were crushing. The rumors of his cowardice are true - he deserted his flight during battle against the Krell. Worse, though, he turned against his team and attacked them.
