Story
Running away from a past she’d rather forget, Doctor Alison Wilson has moved to a new town to take up the role of Medical Officer at failing hospital St Margaret’s. Tasked with shaking things up, she quickly learns that things are worse than they initially seem: patient records are in disarray, staff morale is low, and there’s something afoot that she can’t quite put her finger on As Alison starts to dig into the hospital’s past, she gradually discovers a trail of lies that runs deeper and darker than she could have ever imagined.

Story
I loved the anonymity, flexibility and solitude that working the night shift at Storage Queen gave me. The unsociable hours paid well, helping me fund my university degree and giving me a quiet place to study while the world slept peacefully in their warm, cozy beds. It was the perfect job for me. But that Friday night proved to be more than I bargained for when a man walked through the door, dragging a large suitcase. My immediate instincts told me something was wrong. That’s when my ordeal began. I just had to make it through the night shift.

Just Okay
Reviewed: 03-12-25
The storyline was okay. I did not like or dislike the main character, but the author's overuse of the words insulin and blood sugar was too much. I mean we get it, she's diabetic. I felt more like the author was on a quest to make everyone aware of diabetes instead of writing a story. I would pass on this one.

Story
Ruby Young's new Boston apartment comes with all the usual perks. Windows facing the brick wall of the next-door building. Heat that barely works. A malfunctioning buzzer. Noisy neighbors. A dead body on the sidewalk outside. And of course, a ghost. Since Cordelia Graves died in her apartment a few months ago, she's kept up her residency, despite being bored out of her (non-tangible) skull and frustrated by her new roommate. When her across-the-hall neighbor, Jake Macintyre, is shot and killed in an apparent mugging gone wrong outside their building, Cordelia is convinced there’s more to it.

Story
It’s been ten years since Priscilla and her Zeta Phi Zeta sorority sisters graduated college. Ten years since they were all in the same room together. Ten years since one of them died. And now Lupé’s killer has been released from prison on a technicality, days before their ten-year reunion. Priscilla decides that the party must go on; Lupé would have wanted it to. And besides, an epic reunion bash might be the perfect distraction. Back together, the Zetas party like it’s 2012, and it’s wild, just the way it used to be. Maybe too wild.

I am puzzled by the reviews. I don't understand how people didn't figure out who "did it" right away. It was obvious. I rarely write reviews, but hope to save someone 13 hours. In addition to it not being a good book, it was obvious the authors were not fans of police or white people.

Story
The day my path crossed with Simon Fox I thought I’d already lost everything, but then he almost ran me off the road with his flash car and belittling jibes. The men in my life had undermined me for too long. Enough was enough. Fuelled by alcohol and the desire to get even, I decided a spot of petty vandalism would make me feel a whole lot better. Wrong. Very wrong. I hadn’t realised that Simon Fox was not a man to be messed with.

The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. Why the hype?
Reviewed: 06-01-24
I truly do not understand what the hype is about with this book. The characters were so underdeveloped and no explanation behind the murders - you didn't know anything about the murderer or what his motives were. It was very hard to differentiate between the female characters because there was no change in the narrator's voice. Perhaps if the book were more than six and a half hours there could have been character development. People raved about this book and I could not have cared less about the characters. Overall it lacked any excitement and was pretty boring.

This book was a total waste of time. The author clearly did not know much about the Catholic Church and it's obvious that she thinks all white people are racist. The storyline was formulaic and none of the characters were likeable.
