About this listen

“A charming cast of characters, a twisty mystery, and a diabolical killer make Nothing Ever Happens Here impossible to put down. A riveting page-turner with a sly sense of humor.” —Robyn Harding, internationally bestselling author of The Haters

Nothing ever happens in small towns…

When Shelby Dawson survives a harrowing attack that should have left her dead, she tries to move past it—for herself, and for her family. Fifteen months later, with the help of her best friend, Mackenzie, she finally feels safe again in the snowy Minnesota town she calls home. But when an anonymous note appears on her windshield bearing the same threats her attacker made, Shelby realizes that her nightmare has only just begun.

As new evidence surfaces, and a group of well-meaning senior citizens accidentally makes the case go viral online, the situation quickly goes from bad to worse. And with suspicious accidents targeting those closest to her happening all over town, Shelby can’t shake the feeling that she’s being watched. Fighting to stay one step ahead of disaster, she finds herself asking the question on everyone’s lips: Who attacked her that night?

But Shelby isn’t the only one with questions. Mackenzie’s husband, Leo, vanished without a trace on that terrible night, and over a year later, no one knows why. Until a deep dive into his finances reveals a history of debts, mismanaged funds, and hidden accounts—one of which is still active. Their suspicion that Leo is still alive only complicates things further, though, and when another person connected to Shelby goes missing, she’s caught in a race against time before her attacker becomes a killer.

Great Suspense

A great suspense novel, with full cast. Really enjoyed the narration from Florence’s POV. She and Herb are the real MVPS along with the other Oleander Residents. Plenty of LOL moments with the older folks POV. I couldn’t stop listening and definitely did not guess the villain.

LOVED it!!

I loved this book! I finished it in one day. I loved the story, the narrators were fantastic! I loved “the gang” from the old people home, they added a fun twist. I couldn’t stop listening and was sad when it was over! Great book!

Disappointed

Sad to say I am disappointed because this is one of my favorite authors so I was quick to buy the book without even reading the summary. It was nothing like her others.. I was so bored I had to rewind many times after realizing I had zoned out. As far as the narrators go, Brittany Pressley is one of my favorite narrators and she did great. The narrator that played Shelby had a drab monotone voice and it made it hard to connect with that character as I felt no emotion good or bad. However, it was not horrible and she will still remain one of my favorite go to authors. Can’t win them all I suppose.

I love this author but

This story started out great I was super excited and then it just lost the plot. A transition into the nursing home and the older characters didn’t make a lot of sense and the characters didn’t have a lot of personality until the end of the book where it got better again,

Love this Author

Since discovering this author, I’ve listened to all of her books and set a reminder for when this, her latest would drop.
It did not disappoint! I love how you are not able to predict where the plot is headed. Well written!
Great narration.

great story and even better characters

I loved this book so much, the story was a good mystery, but what really sold it were the narrators and cast of characters that were charming, and relatable. I loved the senior"gang" and would really love another book with Florence and the "gang" solving crime in their town.
I highly recommend this book.

Disappointing

This was a disappointing read. I usually love Seraphina Nova Glass' books and I had really high hopes. One of the narrators was so boring, the other one I liked and she kept me hanging on. I just kept wishing it would end already. This is not like her other books.

Just okay

I love this author and was eagerly awaiting this release; however, it just didn’t have the wow factor of her other books… not bad but not great

If you Love Thrillers...

TWs: homicide, gambling, violence (<i>some, very little</i> involving children), domestic violence (gaslighting, emotional, financial abuse)

POV: 3rd person, multiple POV: Shelby, McKenzie “Mack,” and Florence

Okay… I waited and waited for this one— I’m so glad I did!

This book has all the twists & wild turns and suspense a thriller lover expects from a novel. Of course, Seraphina Glass didn’t disappoint. YES, you must suspend a bit of reality. When don’t you read a thriller/mystery? (F. McFadden lovers…. Eh? Count me as one of those…)

High points for me:
The Oleander Gang
The Small Town Mentality (I live in one.)Some of their interactions had me laughing in my office like a nut.

Math in Fruit Logic… I gasped for breath, I was laughing so hard.

Great thriller/mystery/whodunnit.

Get the book, burn the credit, whatever your medium is… Do it.
