Disappointing sequel to book 1
Reviewed: 04-27-18
I was really disappointed in this second book. The first book in this series was great. It was funny, interesting, unique and very edgy. The characters were hilarious. The first book would give you a shock of laughter. This second book dropped the story line and focused on that shock factor to the point is was no longer funny.
I may or may not buy book three if there is one. I like the crazy characters but still want a good plot.

Story
People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

Good story, rushed ending
Reviewed: 04-27-18
I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't anything like the twin story of my childhood. It was unique and captivating. I was very disappointed in the ending. I wonder if an editor decided it was to long. The story line had great detail throughout but when the conflicts were resolved the writer speed through a very water downed ending. I continually wanted to go back and press play but the story was over.

Seriously? That's the ending?

I'm being generous with this book by giving it four stars. I love this series and am giving it four stars out of loyalty. The narration was sooooo sloooow. It had it's good parts but mostly was just our Queen bossing everyone around for 25 hours and justifying it later.
I like a good cliff hanger. It's great when you finish a book and you can't wait for the next one in a series to be released. In this case I want her to hurry up and fix it. This was a sad, depressing, hopeless ending that will almost certainly lead into a sad depressing beginning (hopefully not the whole first half) of book 6. I want to be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see.
