I had already read the book but decided to buy it on a sale. I’m so glad I did. The narrator truly breathed life into the characters. I loved Ella and her honest, kind, and somewhat unhinged choices. 😂

The things I’m imagining us doing are something no shifter should be contemplating with an alien. But if I’m going to hell, I’d rather earn my place...thoroughly. My desires are about to become the least of my problems however, because like it or not we’re now embroiled in a vicious war of the planets — and that includes Earth. If I want a home to go back to, I need to focus. Yep, I’m screwed.

It has been a long time since I found a book worthy of sci-fi AND romance. Tangerine Wilkin brought Jack to life for me. This book is funny, gory, totally sci-fi with bad-A$$ aliens and awesome good ones. I have already read the other two and anxiously await their entry to the Audible library.
This book was everything!

Elin Peer must be a man!
Reviewed: 08-25-22
I am still conflicted about the stars I have given for the story. There was some push and pull between societal differences and arguments about what is right for one or the other. But, the author definitely had a push toward the North men with subtle nuances and I did not appreciate that.
I mean I would give up a lot if it meant we live in a society where women ruled and men did not. A place where everyone is valued, there is equal representation, and only one "country", diseases are mostly eliminated, prisons are eliminated, pollution is a thing of the past, and species decimated by our own hands are back in their rightful and deserved habitats...all because women removed men from power.
So, when the author slowly kept pushing for the heroine to be with someone who is a savage by most standards, it was repulsive. He betrayed her several times and the author did not address that. Women are property - pretty much with the word "protector" replacing "husband" and men can do whatever they want with their "wife". Yeah...you must be a man, Elin Peer.

I have difficulty finding words to describe how this book spun me around, punched me in the gut, and made me laugh, cry, and scream all within reading AND listening to it.
The finale we have all been waiting for arrived as Danica, Samael, and their allies finally face Lucifer and his minions. Alliances are revealed, new enemies emerge, sacrifices made, and finally triumph of success with an oh so good HEA.
Stacia has weaved human emotions in a way that ensnares you and you like it as you cry and scream, and luvvvv everything you read/listen to.
I keep listening to these books over and over again!
Glad to see Vas is next.

After the Mage Council publicly excised me, I've finally got my first real case. And I've even taken on a brand-new employee: a werewolf with impulse control issues. But my sister just lost everyone she loves, and she’s begging me to ask Samael for help. Whether I like it or not, I need Samael's resources. Because anyone who can kill that many witches has the kind of power we can't afford to ignore. And there's no point dodging the demon who manages to involve himself in all of my problems.

Amanda Leigh Cobb is the perfect Danica. I read this at 1.4 speed.

But I’ll break that promise over and over again if it helps me avenge her death. When my only lead turns to ash in the middle of demon territory, I’m suddenly a dead witch walking. Violence in Samael’s club is an automatic death sentence… unless he can use you.

I have read and listened to countless novels in this genre. There are so many with near zero substance to them or the writing that is flat out bad or the ones you start reading with extreme interest only to be grossly disappointed with some meek heroine and a crashing storyline.
THIS IS NOT THAT!
I came across it while looking for books of interest and now the author has become a "one-click author".
This book has everything I could ask for in a story.
I got my strong heroine who is not a Marvel hero. She has her weaknesses and her strengths. She is relatable in her feelings around her world and enviable in her actions. I got my swoon-worthy bad boy who would do anything for the heroine.
I got my fantastic storytelling and world-building with an adventure that kept me glued to my Kindle and Audible.
This is an epic love story that weaves itself around your senses and ensnares you all the while rooting for the demon who will win the heroine's heart.
There are a total of 5 books in this series with additional books for side characters in the works.
This is a completed series if you're interested in reading it on KU (Kindle Unlimited).
The fifth book which will be released later this month (06/22) will be about Vasago. He is one of the demons in Samael's circle who becomes besties with the heroine - Danica.
It is a slow burn, non-RH, urban fantasy, no MM series.
Within the series as a whole, there is violence, killings, sex, bloody battles, and kidnapping. I hope this helps those of you who look for trigger warnings.
Overall, you'll probably find my reviews of this book everywhere because it has become my go-to in a book slump and I notice details each time I read/listen.
I really liked Amanda Leigh Cobb as Danica. I was not as pleased with her personification of the rest of the characters only because I couldn't discern most of the males from each other. I think this would have been an even better Audible book with dual narration.

Warlord Wulf thought nothing could be worse than being tortured and contaminated by the Hive. That was before he’s ordered to transport to Earth and represent the Colony in an unfamiliar horror...a human reality show. The Bachelor Beast is the hottest new program on Earth, but being set up with two dozen clingy females is not his idea of a good time. When his Beast refuses to show the slightest interest in any of the show’s potential mates, he knows he must choose one or die due to his raging mating fever.

Stereotypical harlequin (ugh)
Reviewed: 05-31-22
The interesting storyline and the overall star count drew me to waste almost 6 hours on this gem. Grace Goodwin made what could have been quite an interesting story into a corny, stereotypical, vomit worth 5 hours and 39 minutes.
Another one of those cookie cutter romance books that have been rewarded with way too many misunderstandings, a heroine who always doubts herself & the hero's devotion, and a ridiculous amount of inner monologue that was quite painful to finish. The only reason I did is so that I can write this review with a clear conscious.
Mia Sloane and Tor Thom were great.

Amaryllis Lark is one of the best psychic detectives on St. Helen's, the Earth colony recently cut off from the mother planet, yet not so very different from home. Lucas Trent, the rugged head of Lodestar Exploration, isn't keen on the prim type - and from her crisp business suit to her cool evaluation of his request to bust a corporate thief, beautiful Amaryllis is excruciatingly proper. But when a bold hunch heats up into a twisting murder investigation, by-the-book Amaryllis must let her guard down and break some rules.

This book was bogged down by too many words. It could have easily been hours shorter. The story itself is very interesting and creative. But, the author gave way too many details about everything. I would barely classify it as romance as well. It was just an interesting book that I'll never listen to again.
