Story
Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating from the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can't deny their off-the-charts chemistry. Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson's secrets while she's hiding her own, but that doesn't stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she's not prepared for the truth....

Good story, distracting narration.

The male narrator was perfect as usual. The female was fine except when she did a male character. It was so bad it was like a joke. So distracting from really getting into the story.

Hockey goalies are known to be obsessive—but none more so than my ex’s brother. I just didn’t expect to be on the receiving end of his dark possessive streak.

The male narrator is horrendous!
Reviewed: 05-01-23
The male narrator does not fit the part at all. He’s voice is so aggressive and goes in and out a slight accent. The other two previous books had the same narrators, which were great. This book was ruined by the change in narration.

Reporter Diana Marcum is in crisis. A long-buried personal sadness is enfolding her - and her career is stalled - when she stumbles upon an unusual group of immigrants living in rural California. She follows them on their annual return to the remote Azores islands in the Atlantic Ocean, where bulls run down village streets, volcanoes are active, and the people celebrate festas to ease their saudade, a longing so deep that the Portuguese word for it can’t be fully translated.

It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation in sweet, sunny Cape Cod—just me and my beloved brother—but discovering a corpse in our rental house really throws a wrench into our tanning schedule. Now a rude, crude bounty hunter has arrived on the back of his motorcycle to catch the killer and refuses to believe I can be helpful, despite countless hours of true crime podcast listening. Not to mention a fulfilling teaching career of wrangling second graders.

Terrible Narrator Choice
Reviewed: 08-09-22
The male narrator was not right for this story. His voice sounded like an old chain smiling man. The female was a very young voice. It made it hard to endure the romantic aspect when they sounded like they could be father and daughter. Neither performance was bad, per se, just did not help the story at all. I was never able to get lost in it. Very disappointing.
