About this listen

Be careful what you wish for . . .

Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating from the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can't deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.

Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson's secrets while she's hiding her own, but that doesn't stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she's not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson's heart long ago.

Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they'll learn that sometimes it's the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

Contains mature themes.

Love the series

Great series and I love the author but the female narrator was really tough to listen to. She sounded too old for the character and strangely over dramatic and breathy. The way she accentuated her words was really weird too. And you could hear her dry swallowing. When people don’t like a narrator even if I get what they mean I usually forget about it in a few minutes. I never got over it. It’s like she had heard southerners talk slow so she slowed the spaces between the words instead of the entire cadence. …otherwise great story.

Hard to listen to

I listened to the first 2 books so I ordered this one without the preview. The female narrator was very hard to listen to. When she used her normal voice it was ok but when she talked as another character to was bad. The story was good and the male role was fine. But every time the chapter started with her I cringed. Took me longer then normal to finish because I had to take breaks from the voice. You could also hear her swallowing through out the book. I can’t say this enough. Stop changing the narrators half way through a series. You get used to a voice and if it changes to a voice you don’t enjoy it ruins the entire series.

Not nearly as good as her other books

I’ve read nearly every book written by Rebecca Yarros; unfortunately, this one was disappointing and very slow to develop.

Story ok…narration thumbs down

Awful female narration…particularly when she did the male voice. It was cringy. Teddy Hamilton was great as usual. Many times I wanted to stop listening to this book due to the narrator.

Terrible Narration

The female narration was just awful. The constant swallowing was soooo distracting and her voice for male characters made me cringe. Couldn't finish it. I ended up reading the last 100 pages.

The story was great, love the series!

Just ok

The female narrator was terrible and I almost didn’t finish. The story was longer than necessary, but Teddy Hamilton was the saving grace. I’m glad it was free because I don’t think it was worth a credit.

Ups and Downs

This book is about Young adults with mistakes they think are horrible beyond repair. Throughout the book they find strength in one Another and eventually grow.

I did like the story, but I think she was taking too long to get to the point. Too much drama for me. It felt like it was the story of 2 teenagers, even though they were young adults. At times I felt like giving up on the book, but they third final part the author made me jump from my SEAT! what a Twist!

As for the narration, the female narrator was struggling at the beginning, but she managed to find the right way to handle the characters. I liked the male narrator better in this story.
Because the book improved and surprised me, 4 atrás. I recommend It.

Narration issues

Different narrator for this book would’ve been better. I don’t feel like the character and description lined up with The Voice.
