I enjoyed this continuation of the Sea View series. Klassen and the narrator handled the vast cast of characters well.

Who doesn’t love a handsome Scotsman? I liked the way Frantz portrayed the highly dis functional, secret ridden family. Was a little put off in the beginning by the narrator’s jolting and odd phrasing, but in the end she was very good.

I enjoyed learning from the various eras and items of focus in the wide range of fabrics chosen for discussion. Well written and researched.

This narrative doesn’t hold back the gruesome plight of those brave Protestants who would not forsake their faith in the face of death and despair. Loved every minute.

Yes, this has been coming on for years. We are frogs in the water pot. My only complaint with this book is the lack of mention of the end-times, and the biblical book of Revelation.

This story feels real. As you read, you can see the fields of Kansas, the women working around a quilt, the run away slave they help. It deals with war and loss, and prejudice and hate, but also of love and respect, courage and steadfastness.
