I'm not sure how they selected the narrator - but they clearly chose the wrong person. Ruined an excellent piece of work.

Sorry, this one is a tough "read"

I thought the first in the series was an interesting story, but I feel the author had one of the characters tale on a quasi-super hero level status that wasn't believable and I found myself literally rolling my eyes at the author's use of the main character. The writing seemed to get lazy in this second set of volumes. Disappointing.

Good, basic beginning prepping book - terrible recording

The suggestions and advice are solid and mainstream prepping designed to introduce the reader to the concepts and pointing out that doing something is better than nothing. Excellent recommendations without being "over the top".

The narrator was fine, but the recording quality was so tremendously poor that it cannot be overlooked. I deleted the download and downloaded on the highest setting, which improved the sound, but I still received a ton of popping sound and first words spoken by the narrator after pauses were garbled.

Not sure if it is the narrator or was just poor recording, but it sounded poor compared to other Audible productions.

Story was decent, but the dialog between characters was very poor at times. Author needs to understand what 4 year olds are capable of saying. Same with 12 year olds. The dialog with the kids was terrible overall. Dialog among the adults wasn't much better. BUT the story was interesting and when there was just straight narration - it was well written and descriptive.

As for the narrator himself? He has no business attempting to alter his voice for women and children characters. It was awful. Awful.

Poor choice of narrator.

Sorry to be negative, but these issues REALLY distracted from what was otherwise an interesting story line.

Excellent book for reasonable preparations. Straightforward, thoughtful and well written. I can't wait for more books from Rawles. Both his fiction and non-fiction are fun, entertaining and of course, informative. Good stuff!

Not sure some of the content was necessary. A bit darker than I thought was necessary, but an interesting read otherwise. Gave it four stars because it was different and well written. Again, the assassination attempt was a bit over the top and sort of distracted from the story.

Dana does an excellent job framing the anti-2A fight in the right context. My only critique would be that some of the material is repeated, but it is done for emphasis I'm sure. Good read and excellent performance. Her impersonation of that doofus British guy (P. Morgan) - was spot on. Jolly good! ;)

Read this in school years ago...but it was enjoyable to read again when it wasn't "assigned".

Great read - the production was not so great - the reader has a very nasal voice.

A good one, for sure, but the stories lacked in-depth history of the characters. My expectations are probably tainted after enjoying Killing Lincoln and Killing Patton.
