It provides a refreshing look at the story of a reluctant hero. The hero is relatable in his doubts and reservations. His reactions are believable in the context of his world. I easily became immersed in the well built, familiar world. That made sci-fi elements all the more jarring.
I recomended this book to fans of Superheros and Sci-fi alike.

Exceptional voice talent and a solid story made this a really entertaining listen. I look forward to getting my hands on more works from James D. Prescott and Gary Tiedemann

This book borrows familiar concepts and presents them in such a masterful way that it ends up with something daring and original.
If this book was a movie it would probably earn an "R" rating for strong language, intense violence, some gore and intense sexual situations. In sort, if these themes don't trigger you this book is a must read.

Story
When our protagonist, Andrei, discovers that his girlfriend has cheated on him, he finds himself with an unexpected choice to make: a quick death or a new life in another world he knows absolutely nothing about. Andrei chooses life and sets off alongside his pet, a ginger cat with a limp, for a primeval world fraught with danger. The trouble is...who is whose pet becomes entirely unclear; the man's consciousness is split between both creatures, and the little cat gets a far greater share of intelligence and wit than his hulking master.

Something called the “Blue Juice" is coming. For all of us. Luckily, me (Chip Collins), Pete, Nikola Tesla, Bobo, and FBI Agent Gina Phillips are here to kick its ass, and send it back to last Tuesday. Maybe. Or maybe we'll fail, and everyone in the multiverse is doomed. (Seriously, you might want to get that underground bunker ready.) Either way, I've got to get home to Julie and find out – woah, I'm not about to tell you that right here in the book description! TMI, dude.

I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

I saw the movie first. I really enjoyed the movie. Having the book read to me was a unique experience unto itself. It's amazing how much gets omitted, replaced, and/or blown out of proportion when a book hits the silver screen. I prefer the book, and still love the movie. I kind of feel like they are both alternate reality versions of each other. Like when a comic gets an intriguing reboot.

Story
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

I like that it is a complete story. Complete in as much as a story like this can be. The vulgarity became a bit of a slog towards the middle. I understood the contrast that was its purpose, but after so much of it desensitization was inevitable. It was an enjoyable story with some relatable characters.
