About this listen

Breathable air on Earth is running out and no one knows why.

A mysterious discovery nearly 30 million years old may hold the answer.

To find it, a glaciologist and the inventor of a cutting-edge brain implant will need to work together.

But can they unlock its shocking secrets in time to save humankind?

While investigating hydrothermal vents in the Pacific Ocean, scientist Nicholay Panov and his crew mysteriously vanish. Weeks later, when their vessel is finally found, the hull has been crushed nearly beyond recognition. Stranger still, the wreck now lies off the coast of Antarctica, 7,000 miles from where it sank.

Searching for answers, glaciologist Sienna Panov reaches out to Ben Fisher, the rich and enigmatic CEO who commissioned the expedition. Ben is the inventor of a revolutionary neural enhancement device. Once implanted in the brain, it has the power to boost both mental and physical abilities to dizzying new heights.

Except Ben has recently suffered a tragedy of his own, after a savage attack robbed him of his memory and left him framed for murder. Working together, Ben and Sienna soon discover a shadowy conspiracy connecting both events.

There are ancient secrets powerful people don't want them to uncover, secrets that trace back to America's Space Race and to a time long before humans walked the Earth. Secrets with the power to save the planet - or utterly destroy it.

Filled with stunning twists and turns, Augmented is a technothriller that will leave you breathless!

Solid 4

Liked it then didn’t then liked it again. Don’t know what advice you may glean from that but the fact I’ve finished the book and gave it the second try speaks more to my state of mind then to the books ability to grab my attention
It’s a great time for this book currently but reckon you’ll have to read it to find out for yourself.

Uninspired

Not one of my favorite authors. Has a tendency to make people of power and influence much more stupid than they would ever be and smart people not see the obvious. The theme is interesting but the plot is thin.

I really liked this story! It got confusing at parts, when someone was informing someone else of past events,it just started like a new chapter.I enjoyed the science and science fiction aspects. Gary Tiedmann was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great book, well written and superb performance

ON top of a great performance I really enjoyed the story not just because of the pace and flow, but I really like the way he paints the imagery it really makes it easy to picture what is going on the way the author wanted you to. Amazing all around.

A Titan of science gets a moral second chance

Edge of your seat excitement from cover to cover. A sci-fi, mystery, action thriller that I'll be recommending to anyone who'll listen. Exceptional voice talent and a solid story made this a really entertaining listen. I look forward to getting my hands on more works from James D. Prescott and Gary Tiedemann

Interesting story

I enjoyed this book so much I lost an entire night’s sleep because I just couldn’t stop listening. Had to know what was going to happen next. Figuring out what was happening along with the main character was fascinating. Over all it was a unique read that I’m sure I will read again now knowing the ending to pick up hints I probably missed the first time.
