About this listen

A new time-travel thriller from Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Amazon and Audible best-selling author R. R. Haywood. Creator of the smash-hit time-travel series Extracted and the UK’s number one horror series The Undead.

A man falls from the sky. He has no memory. He has no sense of self. What lies ahead are a series of tests, each more brutal than the last, and if he gets through them all, he might just reach a town called Discovery.

Disappointing

I was expecting big something similar to the Extracted series, but this was not it. Exponentially more brutal and sexual than Extracted, and honestly, other than the brutality, there’s not a whole lot of plot development. Ok, yeah, there’s an underlying “why are we here?” But precious little time or effort is spent exploring that. And I was particularly disappointed in the ending. Felt like just a hard stop with a definite leadin to the next in the series.

Can’t say it isn’t a common thing, particularly in universe-building, but the extreme violence and crass sexual behavior just really isn’t my cup of tea. If lots of fast brutal action appeals to you though (and I do realize there’s a large audience for that), you may love this book. Carl Prekopp is certainly a very enjoyable narrator

F**k, there's only one book! But it is great.

I was going to give 5 stars, and then realized that there is no sequel yet... so it was going back to a 1 star so the author would have to suffer with me. But i didn't want anyone else to miss out on a great read, so 5 stars it is.

Excellent ride, i love all the characters and the bizarre messed up journey they are on. There is so much more to the world and story but it gives just enough to capture you for this journey. I do hope there will be more.

Amazing.

Couldn't put this one down. Can't wait for a sequel, there better be a sequel.

Fantastic, yet again

Rr Haywood is basically my favorite author. Anything and everything I’ve listened to or read by him is extremely difficult to put down. I blow through the books faster than I have any other books in a long time. I used to get in trouble as a kid because I wouldn’t stop reading, but nothing has hooked me like that until I found this author. This book is good on its own, but it ties in to a few other series. It is pretty intense though, so if that’s not your cup of tea this isn’t for you. If you don’t mind it, then I’ve got about 30 book recommendations for you

Fantastic!!

Frantic and engaging from the first words, no one writes action or dialogue like R.R. Haywood nor reads it more convincingly than Carl Prekopp. such a treat!

I would watch this series!

While the style of this book--starting a narrative without any context--mimics the experience of the protagonist, I was a bit lost in the beginning. Once I got more context, I was hooked. Now I want more--backstories on the inhabitants of the town called 'Discovery", who is 'the Old Lady?', and what happened to the past inhabitants of the town?

I would watch this if it were to become a series (a single movie could not do this justice) over and over.

Thanks for bringing me such a great title. The narration, pace, and story were excellent!
