I loved this book, and have listened to it twice now. my circumstance is not a balanced home, but I'm striving to be the best single mom I'm able. this book is full of rich content and Christian guidelines, and love scriptural references!

This book changed my life

It changed my life, my heart, my desires, my parenting. Dr. Huerta’s perspective helped me to see the grace and love and forgiveness God gave me is so tender and unrelenting… and I can give that same gift to my kids (and even to those who have hurt me). It’s a practical book as well, which is always vital to me so I can see what that looks like played out in life and relationships (and copy it or do something similar). I have to admit I had some hard moments reading this book because it made me realize how much I fall short compared to Dr. Huerta. Not only as a parent but also as a healthy individual. His ability to work towards stable healthy relationships with unconditional love is amazing to say the least. I did not have that growing up and have failed to give that sort of stability and love to my own teenagers, but it’s never too late to start working to build better relationships. His practical explanation and description of unconditional love was truly life changing for me and helped me to see some of the unhealthy patterns in my life and relationships (caused by me). But it is sometimes necessary to see our own faults so that we can grow with the Lords help. I already read this book twice and I will come back to read it again and again.

This is an amazing parent/mentor/children's leadership resource

As a mom of four children and fellow leadership of a children's ministry this book brought me to humility and tears more times than I care to admit. For anyone looking for being able to obtain language for some of the challenges we face caring for children, and is needing solutions, reflections, and resources.... this book is IT! You will not regret it's simple yet impactful and influential wisdom.
