About this listen

A disgraced lady...

Felicity Atwood's life was a debutante's dream. She had a wealthy husband, two beautiful children, and an elegant townhouse in Grosvenor Square. Everything was perfect...until her husband publicly left her for his mistress and her dream turned into a nightmare. Now she's divorced, destitute, and bordering on desperate.

A charming thief...

Felix Spencer has never met a piece of jewelry he couldn't steal or a pretty woman he couldn't charm...until Felicity. A cunning thief turned Bow Street Runner, he's exactly the sort of man she has been taught to avoid at all costs. But try as she might she cannot forget the kiss he stole from her...or the way she feels when she's wrapped in his arms.

A dangerous proposal...

Determined to possess the dark-haired beauty, Felix sets out to prove himself worthy of her love only to quickly discover Felicity's heart is the one thing he cannot steal. Having been hurt by men twice before, she doesn't trust the charming rake any further than she can throw him. But when she finds herself witness to a horrible crime, Felix is the only one she can turn to. Somehow she must find the courage to trust him with her heart...or risk losing her life.

Contains mature themes.

Mary Sarah is a wonderful narrator! I wish other female narrators did better male voice. Mary does a great sexy male voice. Book 2 is serious but Felix is fun and silly! Love this series!

Book 2 is great! Male character has such a fun personality!

Loved Felix. A sweet story. The mystery is a bit faint hearted, but well executed. Mary Sarah is a jewel of a narrator. Enjoyed thoroughly.

Better Than The First

But this story is a bit weak. I don't know that I like the way Ms.Eaton pops around from current to past events...and often in the middle of a conversation. When Felix appears at the beginning, suddenly she pops to Felicity's husband telling her he wants a divorce. There is a long scene of the divorce then you go back and pick up with Felix. Makes it difficult to keep the flow of a scene or even a conversation. Not sure it I will keep.

I love Mary Sarah

this one had the potential for a great Mystery Romance. most of the story was a rushed angsty relationship with a 1 maybe 2 chapter's of Mystery thrown in to stay with the Bow Street Theam

Way to RUSHED !!!

A bad ending can really kill a story. The plot itself was... OK almost good but it was hard to love the FMC she was just so weak. She becomes tolerable after she FINALLY stands up for herself. Unfortunately, it takes much too long to get there. There is some good romantic moments along the way. However, the details of the current story overshadowed with the blow by blow accounts of the flashbacks and detailed side tangents insted of more info on what was happening in the present day. The biggest disappointment was the ending. It felt thrown together at the last minute. There was no build-up just an Oh by the way this is the arc of the story and it's going to only last 3 mins. Additionally, we don't get to learn what happened to the nemesis and that is the karma we were waiting for. To never know one way or the other is unforgivable! It ruined the entire book for me. Sure there is a 1 min HEA epilog but it is so inconsequential it might as not bern written. Instead the epilog is an ad for the next book....grrrrr WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE? HOW DID IT TURN OUT? Geez I'm sorry I ever started it.

VERY unsatisfying ending
