About this listen

Lady Aisla Montgomery has a perfectly tolerable marriage...as long as her husband stays in Scotland and she in Paris. But now, years later, she wants only one thing - a divorce.

Niall Stuart Maclaren, the rugged Laird of Tarbendale, rues the day he met his beautiful, conniving wife. Though the thought of her incites a bitter and biting fury, no other woman has ever stirred his blood as hotly.

When Aisla returns to Scotland to sever ties, Niall agrees on one condition - one week with him for every year of desertion. Six weeks as his wife in his castle...in his bed...in exchange for her freedom.

Contains mature themes.

Hated the lairds wife from the beginning. It didn’t get any better by the end.

The wife’s scheming but no honesty!

This had a really different storyline than any I’ve read. I enjoyed the fact the Laird had a disability that he didn’t view as one and his friends and family didn’t either. It shows how some can rise above. The story was sexy, romantic, and sad at times. A very good story by this writing due and good narration by Mr. Woodson. The only thing for me that would have made it better would be more detailed sex and humorous moments. I’m interested in more from the secondary characters, that I hope are in books to come.

A very interesting book

Full characterization, great behavior & thought logic for each personality (even the frustrating or disliked ones), good story arcs, & great plot/subplots. Thoroughly enjoyable. Well done overall.

Quality is Excellent

What a story this was. I will read this one over and over again. It has everything à highland book should, mystery, love, jealously, and a good highland fight. I can't wait to read the next story. I really appreciate when readers write good reviews if they like or don't like a story because it helps me decide if I'm going to buy a book or not, so I want to thank all the people who write reviews, good and bad. Enjoy this one readers I think it's worth the money. Bonnie Lou

Where is the accountability on her husbands part!?! He doesn’t trust his wife for 98% of the book then has the AUDACITY to heed some other woman’s words who has made it obvious she wants more than “friendship” from him. IMO her husband should have worked harder to get her back instead of her simply forgiving him so readily chalking it up to him being prone to jealousy. Like girl, you man doesn’t trust you and pick the word of a woman who openly wants him. That was my only problem with the book. Other than that great book

I enjoyed this book but it reminded me of another writer/story. It had some humor and lightheartedness and that made it more enjoyable.

Ignore the negative reviews, they are complete rubbish. This was excellent. I’ve found many of the Highlander books to be very amateur to the point of wondering how they found a publisher. This is not one of them. It’s a lovely version of Sweet Home Alabama, at least for the first half. I love the narrator, if you like William Shatner’s voice you’ll love this narrator. So many times a story can be completely ruined by bad accents. Not so with this narrator. He is fabulous!

A great story all the way around.
