About this listen

A grown up Little Red Riding Hood meets werewolves and witches in an adult fantasy romance.

To enter the woods as a human means death… But I am no mere human. They call me, “witch.”

As one of the last surviving witches, Faelyn’s sole duty is to keep the protective barriers on the forests where the lykin roam—creatures who can shed flesh for fur—sparing nearby humans from their violent, beastly natures. When she has an unlikely encounter with the rare, primordial spirit of the moon, Faelyn finds herself not only the object of the Wolf King’s desire, but essential to his ability to keep his crown.

Taken to the magical land of Midscape, the Wolf King claims her as his bride to control the moon spirit’s magic that now resides within Faelyn. But Faelyn refuses to resign herself and the spirit Aurora to a life of servitude underneath the king’s cruel rule. Faelyn hatches a dangerous plan for them both to escape and help comes from an unlikely ally.

Evander is the king’s blisteringly handsome, loyal knight, right hand, and Faelyn’s sworn protector…on the outside. But appearances are not what they seem. He plots against the king’s brutality at every turn and helping Faelyn escape will serve these ends. But altruism for Faelyn and the trapped moon spirit isn’t his only motivation… Evander is hiding secrets, and they might change Faelyn’s life forever. A desperate plot to escape. A brutal king. Ancient powers. And a sworn protector who can’t keep his hands off her… Will she be taken as the Wolf King’s bride? Or will she manage an escape that will free her heart and change her fate forever?

A Dawn with the Wolf Knight is a complete, *stand alone novel*. For listeners who love romantasy novels with second-chance/long-lost love, life-changing female friendships, deep lore, forbidden romance, slow-burn, and a happily ever after.

While it is set in the Married to Magic universe, listeners can start with this book.

Another great addition to the M2M universe, just not the best of them.

Great story, good characters, but the end felt like it didn’t quite belong to the rest of the book. Still worth the read( or listen!), but the other books in her married to magic set are better.

Sad it’s over

I've loved all of the Married to Magic books, Wolf Knight has easily become my favorite; though I can be a sucker for a good werewolf story.

**** Spoilers ****

I loved the inclusion of the Spirits in this to better explain the magic system, and love the care Faelyn took with each one, wanting to truly bond and connect with them. The werewolves having a fully shifted form is always a favorite thing for me, as someone who's always loved wolves. The story of Faelyn and Evander was so well paced, not quite a slow burn but not a quick get together. For once, there is also very little miscommunication, the little bit there is barely even lasts a full chapter. Miscommunication can certainly add to the angst but it's done so often that it's nice when there's very little.

Conri is just terrible and disgusting! There maybe some triggers for some when it comes to him, especially near the end. He's just vile.

I love Aurora, Faelyn and Evander so much. I'm sad this stand alone series has come to an end but I'm excited to see what comes next; Elise Kova is very careful with her wording has calls this the last PLANNED book for Married to Magic, which gives me hope that she's not done with this world she's created.

Good story but…

I liked the concept of this story and many of the characters, that part was great. The voice actor was well suited for this book as well. However it was too long and too much time was spent on unimportant details. If the author condensed all the wandering around and going in a circle. Then describing the daily details of the Lykins lives, it would cut out about 4 hours or so out. By the ending ,I was just like get on with it already! If you need an epilogue that is 20 minutes long, that means you needed a better ending and no epilogue.

Another good one from Elise Kova

as an avid wolf and fantasy lover – – not to mention, oddly obsessed with the moon – – there are many aspects of this story that I enjoy. Although the female lead was quite likable, Aurora was hands-down my favorite character; followed by Avander. I also really love how all of the magic married to magic novels weave together in varying degrees. I definitely liked the story overall, although it was not my favorite in the series, it was refreshing and original (the way that witches work with spirits was one of my favorite aspects for sure)

I have a soft spot for this series...

Is this book a literary masterpiece? No. But I do really enjoy this series. They are very entertaining and always what I need in between lengthy series. I consider these pallet cleansers in the best way.

Good Slow Burn Romance

If you’re a fan of Elise Kova, this book will not let you down. It is a slow burn romance with a lot of twists and turns, a couple chapters were having me physically speak out “what the heck!”. I do like romance stories but it is honestly hard to find these true slow burn romance stories as the world has been thrust into the fake impractical “smut” world. So for the original slow burn fictional romance readers out there, this one will not let you down. I am forever a fan of Elise Kova.

Another great Married to Magic

I love the whole Married to Magic series and this final edition is no exception. I love the characters in this book and the world as a whole from book to book. Elise creates a fantastic and consistent world that with each book we see a little more of. I love the story telling of Faelyn and Evander’s tale and the narrator did an excellent job of bringing it to life.

Twist on Little Red Riding Hood Retelling

Great narration.

Once again freedom comes at a cost.

A stand alone second chance romance centered around secrets and sacrifices, it focuses on finding a sense of belonging. This book is filled with a range of emotions: from fear to courage, from broken to healed, and everything else in between.

Empty

This protagonist is extremely frustrating, there are many plot holes that seem like a round of editing of two where missing. The romance had some steamy elements in comparison to other books but the story itself is sorely lacking.
