About this listen

Now that he's back home in San Diego, life is looking up for John Smith, hapless P.I. and supernatural mediator.

And sure, there may be a few flies in the ointment, like the little matter of an ongoing goblin war, the disappearance of John's chief mediator rival, and an ever-growing list of questions about the suspicious events of the past few years, but those are all topics for another day. It's wedding season and the sun is shining, the weather is perfect, and the early fall air is thick with the scent of-

Wait. Is that rotting flesh?

San Diego's zombie prince, Simon, may be long dead, but his descendants are still around and kicking, and one of them, his great-great granddaughter, just went missing. Now, Simon wants John to track her down.

John has never worked across state lines before, but clearly that's going to change. And while New Mexico might not be quite as blissful as Catalina Island, it still sounds pretty sweet. After all, John and his friends have already survived gods, witches, werewolves, and the terrifying guacamole shortage of 2013. What sort of challenge could this case possibly offer by comparison?

He's about to find out.

I am not going to lie, I had assumed the series ended with the last book, but I am so incredibly happy it is continuing.

Tulbane is incredible at writing characters that grow, as per usual, we follow John Smith, slob turned investigator turned badass.

If you liked the previous books you'll like this one as well, while some story themes tend to repeat, they arent dull, because each time they happen John has become more confident and competent, so he solves problems both faster and in more interesting ways.

Another great book in the series

This book flew by. Just when you thought it was slowing down it sped right back up. The twists and turns keep you guessing. And it’s a perfect setup for another book!

I didn't realize how much i missed these characters. It was nice to see John actually learned(some), and a couple times avoided his mouth getting him in trouble. You also get to see alot of his circle of friends again. Also, in typical fashion, there are alot of things on his plate, and a limited time to get them all done. I think this may be the best book in the series.

Maybe his best book yet.
