About this listen

Surrounded by fire, a girl with mysterious powers and a young warrior search for safety.

Life in the wasteland is a constant struggle. No one knows it better than Taimin. Crippled, and with only his indomitable aunt to protect him, Taimin must learn to survive in a world scorched by two suns and frequented by raiders.

But when Taimin discovers his homestead ransacked and his aunt killed, he sets off with one mission: to seek revenge against those who stole everything. With nowhere to call home, his hunt soon takes a turn when he meets a mystic, Selena, who convinces him to join her search for the fabled white city. Taimin and Selena both need refuge, and the white city is a place where Taimin may find someone to heal his childhood injury.

As they avoid relentless danger, Taimin and Selena attempt to reach the one place that promises salvation. And they can only hope that the city is the haven they need it to be....

James maxwell has done it again. Not only that but I do belive Simon Vance has the voice that could make me like any book. Nonetheless I truly enjoyed this book and I would like to recommend everyone who enjoys this series to check out the everman saga by james maxwell.

Liked it very much. Reminded me of Michael Wisehart stories. Narrator good but not as good as Tim Gerard Reynolds.

Great Story

Good book to listen to

I liked the protagonists quite a lot, but the antagonists seemed a little flat. The setting was interesting enough to make me want to continue to the next book and follow further adventures and exploration into the world.

Decent fantasy heroic tale

This is my second audio book. I have enjoyed this one better. The story line is great and I liked the way Simon added character to each character and emphasizes the different phases of the story. Good story. I recommend it

Another great story from James Maxwell

The story is well crafted, the characters are well developed, and I cannot wait to get the next one. I never wanted my commute to end and often ended up reading some after I got home.

I also love the performance of the reader. He used so many different voices and accents. Even when I was reading it instead of listening, I still used his voices in my head. Great job!

Didn't want my commute to end!

One thing annoyed me: plural for cactus is cacti. Other than that I thought it was awesome.
