About this listen

Available for the first time as an audiobook in this original Outlander novella, Diana Gabaldon reveals what really happened to Roger MacKenzie Wakefield’s parents. Orphaned during World War II, Roger believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But in An Echo in the Bone, Roger discovers that this may not be the whole story. Now, in "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows," readers finally learn the truth.

Ugh, the sad back story of Roger's parents. It neatly wraps up that story line, but I do hope the story will be expanded upon in the next book. It was a woefully short story from Ms. Gabaldon haha.

Another hit from D.Gabaldon. Although short, the storytelling style is great. If you like the Outlander series, you'll like this.

Wanted it to go on!!!

It helped while waiting for book 9! But I really liked knowing what happened to Jerry!

Really enjoyed this.

This "tidbit" creates more questions than it answers...
And it ends so abruptly that I felt like I jumped into an abyss and landed smack in the middle of chaos. This feeling is what I imagine Claire and so many of the other "time jumpers" felt like after they passed through the stones. If that was Diane's purpose then BRAVO job well done...
Food for thought....
I only gave four stars because it did leave so many questions and ended so abruptly, as mentioned above. If that was the purpose, then 6 stars would be more appropriate of score.

A longer story would have been nicer

Did the dark stranger know he was not going to live on other side? Maybe if he had only thought of his wife?
