I thought the fight was over, but it was only just beginning.
I earned my spot in my all-male pack and won over my new Alpha, Liam Kolane. Yet my place among the Boulders and at Liam’s side is compromised. First, when my cousin claims I helped him devise his Machiavellian plot against the pack. And then, when August Watt, my childhood friend turned Marine comes home.
Although August’s plan was to pledge himself to his new Alpha and return to active duty, he finds himself incapable of leaving. This becomes problematic, because a mating link has clicked into place between August and me. If not consummated, the link will fade, but that’ll take months. How long and hard can I fight this physical attraction that renders my body unreceptive to anyone but my intended mate's?
Tired of having to prove my worth and loyalty to my pack and Alpha, I contemplate leaving Colorado. But an enemy pack shows up on our land and challenges Liam. I have two choices: step aside and let the males fend for themselves, or step up and help them fight the newcomers.
I've never stepped aside…not for anyone. Why would I start now?

The Creeks coming in and causing trouble, and the heartwrenching decision Ness had to make at the end, thanks to an ultimatum, frustrated the hell out of me! Olivia Wildenstein, August & Ness belong together... this is NOT ok! I need book 3!
I listened to this and thought the narrator did a good job raising the emotions, angst, tension, and danger throughout the book.
I requested an ALC from the author, and chose to leave an honest review.
So. Many. Emotions!

This book starts right up at where it left off in book 1, with a crazy twist! Ness is by Liam's side as he is inducted as Alpha, but when August comes back to pledge to the pack, he isn't too happy. I knew he had it hard for Ness, and I am all about it! Turns out they formed their own bond they are just now figuring out.. and the only way for it to go away is distance. Thankfully this doesn't happen. Secrets from the past are starting to come out and poor Ness is in the middle of them all.
Liam royally messes up in this one. He is alpha, the pack comes first, I get it. But his quickness to jump to conclusions without hearing the truth really pushes Ness away. I honestly can't blame her. I love that August is there to help her through it all and it just strengthens their bond in more ways than one, but Liam is not giving up. The pack has problems of its own and the ending shows just how important the pack has become to Ness.
Excited to see the end to this trilogy! moving to book 3 right away!

There is a traitor and killer on the loose that needs to be hunt down.
But on top of that, an unforseen problem has emerged and it will take vows, loyalty and tears to overcome this obstacle.
And when the hunt for the traitor/killer is over, it appears a new hunter has arrived but who? And why?
Although things within the pack are shifting with all that has happened, they are a united pack that presents a unified front. That contrast between loyalty and turmoil is one of the things that make this book (or rather this series up till now) a great read of which I’m glad I have both the audiobook and the ebook version (The Boulder Wolves Trilogy, books 1-3).
I have to admit, it took me a long time to want to read/listen to book 2 eventhough I really love book 1.
I knew a detail about the direction this trilogy was going to go in and I didn’t want to “ruin” my perfect story (or rather, my view on what I thought would be the best version possible for this story) so I kept procrastinating and taking the end of book one as THE end. But considering I absolutely love The Lost Clan by Olivia and Of Wicked Blood which she and Katie Hayoz wrote together, curiousity got the better of me and I started this book at last.
And well, I should’ve just have faith I guess that the author really knows how to make it a classy story where the characters don’t loose their integrity or credibility. I really didn’t think I would love this book as much as I did. But I’m emotionally invested to the core now lol.
It’s an emotional but beautiful story, to me there are no plot holes or irritating parts were you want to yell at the main character (and oh my, I was so prepared to be yelling non stop lol).
And I love how the side characters really added to the storyline. And it was nice to see Ness being fully accepted after the events of book 1.
We readers are spoiled sometimes if we’re not afraid to give any book that sounds good a chance, don’t you think?
Even with this book for me, I had some prejudice that kept me from going on with this series. But now that I have, I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see or hear what comes next!
The title matches the story so perfectly
