My mind began to wander....

If you could sum up A Perfect Storm in three words, what would they be?

boner, stacked, jones?????

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Spencer but for a guy in his 30's he sure uses language a kid would use. He seems very fatherly in his direction of Arizona...kind of creepy.

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Loved this performance, nice intensity, very unique voice...you would know it anywhere.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I felt sorry for Arizona at times when she spoke about her past but she sure didn't let it get her down....she's tough!

Any additional comments?

14 hours could have been cut in half and it would have been just as good if not better. Lot's of words and uninteresting explanations and descriptions.....I am debating whether to continue the series.

Romance and Action

Love Lori Foster's books. I've read most of them, this is one of my favorites. The narrator's did a great job.

great romantic suspense

Loved these series! Have the right balance of story, suspense and romance. The narrator did a great job, too.

Love 2 have me some Spencer !

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series but found this one just l little under par of the rest. Sill enjoyable but not as much hotness and spice. I really did enjoy Spencer and his perfect hunkiness and adored Arizona's unbelieving naive nature. Jim Frangione narration was perfection as always. Sad to have the series end and wish there were more books to come.

A bit short of my expectations

Would you consider the audio edition of A Perfect Storm to be better than the print version?

I would imagine I would have liked this much better if I'd read it myself. The narrator didn't provide emotion when performing Spencer's voice. I had a very difficult time with that.
I've NEVER read a book by Foster that I didn't love, but the narrator didn't do the book justice. Even during the sexual moments he didn't provide emotion to Spencer's voice. Do yourself a favor, buy the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Arizona by far. Spencer would probably be right up there had I put my own internal voice to him

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration matched the pace.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. In fact I had to convince myself to listen to more of the story.

Any additional comments?

I may purchase the book to read myself because I was looking forward to Arizona's story and think I will enjoy it much more that way.

A Perfect Storm

I was not sure how much I would like this one....I was not sure if I liked Arizona when we met her in Savor the Danger (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #3) but she really grew on me in this one. After everything she has survived she is still fighting to right the wrongs and also for acceptance for who she is. Spencer is a total alpha male and really needed to pull his head out of his ass...while I really liked him the one thing that really bugged me was his initial need to fix Arizona . The only one who really see's and understands who Arizona is is Chris (he is the smart one after all). Eventually everyone comes around and see's that yes, Arizona can hold her own and she really is okay as is...and yes Spencer does get his head out of his ass and proves he is a good guy after all.

While the narrator on this one is a good narrator in general (I have listened to him narrate other books and liked him), I found him to be a bit to flat for this story, there is a lot of emotion and he did not really convey that, while not a "monotone reader" there was not a lot of emotion expressed in his reading.

VERY ENJOYABLE BUT BEWARE.....

I love L.F.'s books so this was an automatic download for me. However, this is actually 4th in the Men Who Walked the Edge of Honor series - When You Dare, Trace of Fever, Savor the Danger then this one.

That said, I hadn't realised this and it was still a very enjoyable listen about Arizona who was sold into slavery and prostitution by her father at an early age but she's now free and determined to seek revenge on any other prostitution rings. She tries it alone but finally is forced to seek the help of Spencer and his fellow team members then slowly her vulnerability starts to show as well as her building passion for Spencer.

Worth my credit? Definitely - it's got a lot to it, but it may have been even more enjoyable if I'd first listened to the others and in order.

Not bad just not good

It just felt like she was trying too hard to write about a character that had experiences she couldn't capture and make her a hero. But, it was more painful than not because Arizona was just mostly irritating. It felt like Ms. Foster was struggling the entire time to write this and make it more readable. I won't say it was bad, but I don't think I'll be able to finish it. I usually like L. Foster for a nice light read. But, this one just seems too disconnected with different story leads that don't quite connect together.
