it was for a younger audience. Narrator over enunciated. The book was a little simple.

A little too cheesy

This cozy mystery was enjoyable. I thought for sure I’d figured out the killer right off the bat...not! Good twists & turns to keep you guessing. A sweet budding romance good too.

You’ll pick the wrong killer

The main character was a bit ditzier than I like, but I enjoyed the community of characters, so I'd read more of this series. Take care of your community, our lives depend on one another.

Good Community of Characters

Short cozy mystery

I am always looking for new cozy mysteries to try. I got a good deal and bought it to try. The story was ok and i think i would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer. It seemed rushed and i guess it is because it is short. But it seemed like the murder was rushed and then Rachel was accused of murder. There did not seem to be enough explanation as to why the police accused her when there were others. Rachel felt immediately she had to investigate the murder herself. I feel if this had been longer, at least four or five hours so that there could have been a build up to the murder and investigation i would have enjoyed it better. I am not saying i would not listen to another in this series.

Good Listen

Good listen for when you need a break from heavier tales of murder and mayhem. Two young sleuths, Rachel and Pippa go on a search for the REAL killer when a food critic is found dead after eating some of Rachel's homemade pie at the food fair. Sticking to all fresh and wholesome ingredients, it seems that Rachel's bakery is the recipient of some horrible reviews and also shunned because of her prices, as compared to the Bakermatic Baked Goods Company, whose prepackaged cakes and breads come at a much lower price point. When the police don't seem to be doing much to clear her good name or find the real killer, Rachel and her best friend, Pippa set out on a dangerous endeavor to uncover the killer themselves. This is a cute tale, not totally realistic, but who cares? It was a nice detour for me. Enjoy!
