Publisher's summary

Around a table sit men and women with distinct roles: the interpreter, the theologian, the virtuous, the philosopher, the scientist, the artist, the minister, and the historian. Each is ready to engage in a passionate discussion centered on God, his works, and his ways.

Regardless of which role you play at the same table, you're invited. You simply need to pull up a chair and join the conversation. But how? What do you say when you take your seat? Where do you start? What are the "rules" of the dialogue?

A Practical Primer on Theological Method will help you answer these questions. This primer is not only a "how-to" manual for doing theology, but a handbook of etiquette for doctrinal discussions with other believers. This popular-level introductory text presents the proper manner, mode, and means of engaging fruitfully in theology.

Hash things out, yes, but . . . LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Excellent training in the exercise of Evangelical theological method, skillfully woven together with a continual encouragement towards love of the brethren. There will always be secondary things on which we disagree, and this wonderful little book enlightens the reader as to just why this may be. Different gifts, different skills sets, different callings, different histories combine to develop each of our brothers and sisters in Christ. I had at least a dozen wonderful epiphanies while listening. I hope this book eventually becomes required reading for every seminary. Additionally, the reader is just remarkable; many thanks to him for facilitating understanding and interest from start to finish!

My review can not do it justice

I wish I could write a review that does justice to this “Practical Primer”. But I know my words will fall short.

I have read Glenn Kreider previously so I had a notion of what might be in store. My expectations were far exceeded.

So much so that I have already given friends screenshots of the book, and I hadn’t even finished it. I’ve just completed it. I don’t know how we will make use this book, yet. But I can see it as a springboard, in the coming months, as we gathering around the table, each bringing a diverse cross section of gifts.

I trust others we be as intrigued and challenged by this Primer as I been!
