Publisher's summary

“The perfect read for a cozy night by the fire!” (Apple Book Reviews)

She’s discovered his secret.

Now the trouble really begins….

After three years of mourning - and turning her dear deceased husband’s gazette into the ton’s sauciest source of fashion and gossip - Hollis Honeycutt feels her life has been strangely bereft of late…. Her sister is living abroad, and her best friend moved to the country. What must a young widow of rank and reputation do? Why, transform her society gossip sheets into serious investigative news, starting with a rumored coup…and the rather dashing, mysterious gentleman whom Hollis suspects might be the villain of her first real story, and she is the only one who can write it.

Marek Brendan is investigating terrible rumors of treachery and treason that threaten his home country of Wesloria, but he must proceed with caution. No one can discover the truth. After all, who would ever believe he is Wesloria’s lost crown prince? Only Hollis Honeycutt’s cerulean-blue eyes seem to know more than she’s letting on - and worse, Marek can’t seem to resist her curious charms. But even as betrayal threatens a nation and a throne, nothing is quite so dangerous as the lovely young widow who’s determined to find the truth…and a prince of her own.

Don't miss Last Duke Standing, the first book in a sparkling, witty, sexy new series by Julia London! A young future queen in the market for a husband, and the charming - and opinionated - Scottish lord tasked to introduce her to the ton’s most eligible bachelors.

Not a fulfilling ending for me

First let’s tackle the performance- oriented can’t imagine how hard it is to read these books and come up with so many character voices. However, the whole man’s voices are like mail to a chalkboard for me.
Story- I like most of it but I hope * Spoiler Alert SPOILER ALERT *** The price is discovered in a later book. Can you imagine a parent ga ing a child taken and never knowing he’s nearby. How heart breaking. While I’m glad true love revealed itself.. a parents love for a missing child.. has to be revealed in a later book. Come on!

Loved This Series

Interested that this was not the highlight by a couple of readers when I found that it was absolutely the best. I could have easily done with books 1 and 2. Thank you for making me believe in fairytales again!

disappointed

This book in the series was disappointing. It seemed like the author was just done and ended the book lazily. The ending wasn't as rich as the rest of the books

Disappointed

The first two installments I liked. This story just fell short. I really did not like the ending.
Spoiler below:

I was disappointed that The king will never know his son is alive. I wish they would have gotten the Eliza, and Caroline in on solving who was behind the bringing the soldiers in and the poison.
