Summer on the seaside...a perfect place for romance.

Join us for three novellas in one collection:

The New Countess by Josi S. Kilpack

Diane knows why the earl asked her to marry him; he needed a mother for his daughter, an heir for his title, and a hostess to assist with his position in Parliament. With two sons of her own, and no security to speak of, she never thought twice about accepting his proposal. Summering at his holiday cottage at the sea was meant to be reward for a busy first year as the new countess, and a time for her to rest before their baby is born. She is expecting lazy days on the beach with the children, simple meals, and keeping her own schedule. When the earl surprises her with a visit, she does her best not to resent the intrusion. When she learns that he came for the sole purpose of being with her and getting to know her better, she realizes that perhaps this marriage can be more than she expected. Is she ready for him to know her and love her and explore this new possibility together? She wants to be, but it is not an easy thing to let go of expectations and open up to an entirely new way of life.

Mishaps and Memories by Martha Keyes

Judith Jardine’s one chance at a brilliant match is doomed from the start when she is ignored and then mocked by the ton’s most sought-after gentleman. Under a gloomy cloud of failure, Judith is exiled to a seaside cottage to spend the summer helping her sister - and living a life far below the one she experienced for her week in Brighton. When she discovers the man responsible for her misfortune unconscious on the beach, she heeds her better impulses and has him brought to the cottage to be seen to. But James Carlisle has no recollection of who he is, what happened to him, or how he has wronged her, and Judith sees the opportunity to teach him a valuable lesson—unless the deception and her feelings get the best of her first.

Moonlight Summer by Heather B. Moore

Oscar Rosewell’s life is not lacking....

Such a great collection!

This collection was so great! Usually I shy away from collections because I tend to like one and the rest are lacking, however I enjoyed each and every novella in this collection. The seaside setting was the perfect backdrop and the stories were each unique and entertaining!
The narrator was a perfect match for this light hearted collection! Totally recommend this one! It will not disappoint!

A wonderful collection!

Have I ever said how much I love these collections? LOL, I know I say it every time but it's true. I get 3 complete novellas that feel like books from some of my favorite authors and I have also found new authors. These are all set by the seaside during summer but they're all different settings with different backstories. *happy sigh*

The New Countess by Josi Kilpack 5*--I think this is my favorite story of the three. Diane is enjoying her seaside holiday with just the children when her husband's unexpected arrival changes everything and suddenly her peaceful holiday to recuperate from the London Season and prepare for the birth of her child has come to an end. I felt so much for Diane and could feel her frustration through my Kindle. I liked how she and her husband were able to talk about what they each wanted and compromise.

Mishaps and Memories by Martha Keyes 4*--The author said this story was inspired by the movie Overboard (Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell) and I could definitely see the similarities. Judith Jardine has an opportunity to have a Season but it's cut short but an unfortunate event that turned her into a butt of a joke and squelched her opportunity for a match. When she stumbles upon the man who caused her pain and he has amnesia, she decides to get her revenge. That leads to several hilarious events.

Moonlight Summer by Heather B. Moore 5*--Oscar's ruined reputation and Dorothea's (Dottie) an unwanted arranged marriage make for the beginning a sweet friendship. I liked that Oscar was so taken with Dottie he was willing to put himself back into Society to spend time with her. I felt bad for Dottie because her relationship with her mother seemed to have changed drastically since her mother remarried. Dottie also didn't fit in well with her new step-family, who suddenly wanted her married and out of the house. I liked the developing friendship between Oscar and Dottie.

I loved the narrator for this book. I think she did a fantastic job especially with the voices of the children. It made for a wonderful listening experience.

An amazing anthology

Overall Rating: 5 stars

This is an anthology full of amazing, well written romances. Each story is unique and approaches love from a different viewpoint. These stories are clean reads and are very well edited.

I was given an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I highly recommend this anthology to historical romance lovers. I'm looking forward to reading the next anthology in this series.

The narrator does an excellent job of bringing these stories to life.

THE NEW COUNTESS
by Josie S. Kilpack
Rating: 5 stars

I liked that this story presented the real struggles of marriage 100's of years ago.  It must have been so hard to be married if you were not in love with your husband. This was a falling in love with your husband romance that I really enjoyed.

MISHAPS AND MEMORIES
by Martha Keys
Rating: 4.5 stars

Sometimes first impressions are hard to forget and opportunities for revenge are hard to pass up. What will Judith do?

I found the fish fileting scene hilarious. I think my husband heard me laughing all the way across the house.  This was a fun read.

MOONLIGHT SUMMER
by Heather B. Moore
Rating: 4.5 stars

A sweet romance about discovering and rectifying past wrongs.

All three stories were great

All three stories provided a quick, sweet romance with a happily ever after, just the way I like. Nice job ladies.

Sweet stories

I like this series. Book one became a little irritating because a lot of the story happened through the heroine’s thoughts rather than playing out in interesting dialogue and interaction. Though fine, it wasn’t my favorite anyway because a large part of it included pregnancy references or the children. The last thing I want to hear in a romance novel narrated out loud is quibbling children. And while there was some positive movement in the couple’s relationship, there wasn't much actual interaction between them. Much of the story relied on narrative and internal telling. All in all it's a decent series, and I finished all of them. I will also purchase more if any additional ones become available.
