About this listen

In the loving embrace of her new husband, the dashing American shipping magnate Jeff Birmingham, Raelynn Barrett can forget her painful past and the tragic, undeserved disgrace of her family. With Jeff, each sweet, lingering kiss is a promise of a future rich in joy and sensual fulfilment.

But Raelynn can hear the whispered rumours that damn the man she loves. And what her own eyes have witnessed seem to brand her adored and adoring Jeff as the worst sort of criminal. In the face of the devastating treacheries of ruthless, hidden enemies, how can Jeff ever hope to win back the trust of the woman he cherishes?

Pleasant Story

Not her best & at time I thought she rambled on about nothing. A pleasant listen, but not one I would revisit.

I really enjoyed this performance and this story.

When I read The Flame and the Flower I always wondered what became of Jeff. I liked almost more than Brandon because he was so sweet to Heather. I loved that he called her Tory and teased her almost as much as Brandon did but in an easier way. Now I know. I’m so happy that he found Raelynn to love even though their first year together was so bumpy. He deserved to have as much happiness as Brandon. Raelynn deserved happiness too having everyone she ever loved taken from her so soon. Another wonderful story by KEW! The narrator was also very enjoyable and added to the experience.

Such a beautiful ability to immerse the reader into her story.

One of the best love stories, I hope the newer generations are exposed to this author. Her books are truly classics in historical romances.

Not her best

Lots of sex and some violence, not much story. Doesn't compare to her other books, which overall are excellent.

Did not meet expectations …

I’m a huge fan of this author, but this book lacked substance, character development and storyline… her signature trademarks! I did manage to finish it, largely due to the talent of the Narrator. But it was disappointing coming from as great a talent as Woodiwiss. The good news is she has a host of other books which are worth reading and available on Audible. My favorite: Ashes In The Wind.

Not her best book

I found this boring and could not finish the book. Very disappointed as She is one of my all time favourite books which I have read hardcopies multiple times and treasure in my library.
