Publisher's summary

A Survey of the New Testament: Audio Lectures accompanies Robert Gundry's now-classic survey of the New Testament, a mainstay for college and graduate courses around the world, having been used by thousands of professors and students.

Unlike most New Testament surveys, these textbook and audio sessions lead students to actually study the Bible. Each chapter is introduced by an overview lesson followed by a handful of short sessions on key topics.

Accessibly formatted and focused on the most significant topics and discussions in the textbook, A Survey of the New Testament: Audio Lectures is an indispensable resource for students and independent learners alike.

Amazing

Listen to it with a notebook and a pen, so much to learn. I'll listen to it again for sure.

Wonderful

Delightful. Dr. Gundry presents the NT in understandable terms. He also places people and events in a historical and cultural setting. I recommend this to everyone and without reservation.

Dry but, good

This OT survey is detailed and covers various issues in NT Scholarship. The lecture is a bit dry and I suspect only those truly passionate about the subject matter will listen to the entire series. However, if you do persevere it will benefit you.

New Testament Review

Loved this as well as the Old Testament Overview. I recommend this to novice and seasoned Christians to be reviewed on more than one occasion. Truly a great work.

Great text book!

I read the text and re-“read” it by listening to the audible. The author himself does lectures on each chapter which helped with retention. It’s not a word by word but you can see what the author thinks is important.

Good but...

Very good information but the lip smacking makes it hard to focus on the information.

Performance and editing

Information is great. The editing process left a lot of uncomfortable gaps. Dr Gundry also smacks his lips often.

Sounds great, the speaker has a good tone. It is an excellent summary of the New Testament.

I enjoyed this book, a little confusing at times. I will continue to study this book.

Very informative, wrong focus

In this lecture series, the lecturer spends, what feels like more than half of the lecture series talking about the reliability of the New Testament and the certainty of when it was written and who wrote it.

My expectation of a survey of the New Testament is for 80%+ to be focused on the content of the New Testament. It isn’t a bad listen, but he can go on and on about things that Weren’t involving the content of the New Testament.
